The International Association for the Hatred of Nickleback

Welcome to IAHN, the International Association for the Hatred of Nickleback. I would like all who support this noble cause to join in saying how bad Nickleback is. Observe the warbling vocals. Onserve the inane lyrics. Observe the unfeeling sameness that just screams "If I could, I'd be in Creed!"

And the heinous lieutenants crowd in the wings, noxious vats of bad over-production and off-key singing. The commercial alternative. They are to rock what Avril Levigne and Sum 41 are to punk. They are bridal creepers choking the acacia of quality.

To all Nickleback fans, do not think I think I know what I'm talking about. I know little of this "moosik". But I do know enough to shudder at the flagship of an armada of horror. The Bon Jovi of a new generation.

So, yes, join up now. We have badges, and a quarterly newsletter.

That said, I must admit they are a guilty pleasure of mine. I know I shouldn't like them, but, like candy, I can find them quite enjoyable in small doses without getting sick to the stomach.

Re: The International Association for the Hatred of Nickleback

This is a great thread. I too hate this scourge that is called Nickleback. Not only is it a stupid name for a band, but it seems as though some of their songs (all of which suck by the way) are exact copies of eachother, with different lyrics and only slightly different melodies. For example... the songs 'Someday' and 'This Is How You Remind Me' follow the exact same pattern. There is a talkshow here in Dallas, Pugs and Kelly, and they cued up both tracks at the same time and let them play on top of eachother. They were 90% the same. It really was amazing hearing these two songs played simultaneously. The synched together perfectly. The suck factor was multiplied the by a factor of X^2.

Death to Nickleback.

They're not that bad. I saw them at a club in VA, and they were alright. They do suck on some songs (ok, maybe more than a few!), but they do have a couple of good ones here and there.

A worthy cause. I'll sign up if you recirprocally join the Dan Brown Spitball Club, dedicated at hurling spitballs at Dan 'er-you-ditty' Brown at every available opportunity.

Can we also Hate Linkin Park as a sort of subisidiary activity?

Re: The International Association for the Hatred of Nickleback

Welcome again to the monthly meeting of the Society for Catapulting All Cats into the Sun...

We can hate Linkin Park, but not their filmclips. As for Dan Brown, the opening page of The Da Vinci Code was all I read and that was enough to put me off. He makes John Norman look like Clark Ashton Smith.

But never let us be distracted from that great, driving stormcloud on the horizon of good-taste, the Band That Shall No(-longer)t Be Named. Actually, that makes them sound cool. The band that shall be named, i.e - Nickleback. They really, really are crap. Not a new phenomenon, but one that must be stopped.

I think I love you. Are you sure that Marilyn Monroe pic was just a gag?

HA HA HA HA! GREAT THREAD! JOIN ME UP!

TBH, I didnt hate Nickleback the first time I heard him. But that same song drove me mad after a few listens. The real icing on the cake though, was the realization that it was not in fact the same song, but 6 different songs that all sounded exactly the F-ing same!!!

They were just on VH1 there, and I must say I quite enjoyed the song.

I would piss on Jon Bon Jovi on national television and feel no shame.
