Re: T4 Update

Okay, now I'm thoroughly confused...

Bale fights future?

Quote:
Christian Bale has signed on to play T-1000 in Jay Roach’s remake of TERMINATOR 2: JUDGEMENT DAY. Oh, and also, AICN is reporting with almost 100% certainty that Christian Bale will star as an older John Conner in the TERMINATOR SALVATION: THE FUTURE BEGINS, most likely to be directed by McG.</IMG>
Okay, so the second bit is good news, certainly. Bale is a fantastic fit for an adult John Connor (though I love Bale, so I'd probably say he was a perfect fit for just about anything). It's sounding good, excepting the fact that McG is helming - but I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.

But is the first part some kind of a joke or what? They can't seriously be remaking T2, can they? This is the first I've heard of it. I mean, why? It's barely sixteen years old, it was a massive success, it's an iconic movie. Can't be true, surely...

Re: T4 Update

This is what irritates me with Hollywood just lately - they're so morally bankrupt when it comes to thinking up new ideas, instead of which they go into "remake" or "cheapo sequel" mode.

As far as I'm concerned there's absolutely no need to remake T2. The original is a classic on so many levels and stands the test of time in terms of sfx. If it ain't broke don't feck about with it!

As for T4? couldn't care less really; The T series is going the franchise route of Halloween, Nightmare, Saw and god knows how many other pointless sequels

Re: T4 Update

I have trouble believing in the remake of T2 too. Are you sure that it wasn't some old April's Fool joke that somehow got resurrected?

In T3 I did see a way that the could continue the franchise without Arnie, that might work and might make decent sequels, but as always I would rather they spent the money on giving some new idea a chance than flogging dead horses.

Re: T4 Update

The "Terminator" franchise is just too irresistable for Hollywood to leave alone - even though Arnie is long-gone, they'll fine a suitable replacement for the Millennium Generation
