| Re: Who do you most want to see dead? For what it's worth, I enjoyed The Scarlet Letter :-) As for whom I'd most LIKE to see dead ... Cersei. Mostly because the chapters from her POV in Feast for Crows annoyed me to no end- she was so repetitive and just really grated on my nerves. I don't know who is most likely to die- it seems quite possible everyone will die. I hope not Jaime, though! I think he's great. And I hope not Tyrion, either. |

| Re: Who do you most want to see dead? Ston: he means he's afraid of being flamed. Is it Arya? No, don't answer that. As for who is likely to die, this is GRRM we are talking about. He'll probably kill Dany and give the Freys the Iron Throne. UnCat must die. Melisandre must die. Tommen and Myrcella must die, followed by their &"£%^& mother. Also, that silly cow whose name I can't remember. The 'virgin'. |

| Re: Who do you most want to see dead? Sansa, Arya, Jeyne Poole, Meera, or Myrcella? Or was the cow the important part, perhaps Brienne? Or did you literally mean cow and former virgin, ie. Lollys Blackwater, formerly Lollys Stokeworth? |

I got to agree with the FC, why the two younglings? Why "must" they die? Of course this segues into my bi-annual rant about the validity of Danys claim. What do we base this on? Her grandfathers claim? He lost out when he decided he liked his nobles better roasted to a crispy shade of brown. Her ancestral claim was based on the sword, just like the Baratheons claim. Realistically, if we give Funky Cthulu three dragons his claim is just as strong as Dany's.

| Re: Who do you most want to see dead? I hope that Sansa lives and learns from the Littlefinger while Arya dies. I can't stand Arya. She is just another 2 dimensional character that happens to have a major plot line (we guess since so much time is spent on her) but she has little to any development as a character. And don't say learning to be an assassin is character development. It isn't. It's training. Sansa is actually developing and has a story arch of her own that is quite interesting. Arya's circumstances may have changed but she really hasn't and that just isn't interesting to me. I hope that since Brienne died off stage, she somehow survives and marries Jaime. That would make Cersei blow a gasket that's for sure. I hope the Frey's die because Sansa learns to doublecross properly and has them all killed. My two cents. |

| Re: Who do you most want to see dead? CTM... this is my new abbreviation... chuckling to myself. Since I did not really laugh out loud nor roll of the floor laughing my *** off, this seems appropriate. |

Mostly I was basing her claim on the old fallback of "we've been doing it the longest, therefore the God(s) must prefer us over you lot!" Seriously, divine will has been the 'official' reason for the majority of rulers everywhere, at any point in history. And having dragons as well as a somewhat supernatural link with them looks a lot like Godly intervention. Stannis has his shadows, but I think they won't go over so well with the general populace as dragons do. It's an image thing. I do agree with you - it boils down to military might and brains. But the propaganda machine helps ensure rulers keep their thrones after the initial battle.

| Re: Who do you most want to see dead? That's an interesting point you have there, Mr. Gyrating Great Old One. I guess I felt like Dany has the best claim, just because those nutty, loveable Targs were on the Iron Throne before Robert's usurpation. I went through a phase where I supported Stannis, just because of his claim through the Baratheon line. *shrugs* Anyway, it's not like whoever ends up sitting on the Iron Throne is going to have much of a pleasant reign, what with the trouble brewing in the North and the countryside ravaged to hell and beyond. I do give Stannis brownie points for at least helping at the Wall. Now if he'd just ditch that pesky Red Woman, I'd be all behind him again. Just my rambling two pennies. Happy holidays! Dave |
