True. In my perfect world, money is replaced with acknowledgements, so that if you do anything that someone else thinks is worth doing, you get an acknowledgement for it, which you pass on when someone does something good for you. Banks would be unnecessary, gold reserves obsolete, poverty would be quashed overnight because everyone has a talent or a skill or a public-spiritedness that would be rewarded.

Sadly False. Humans are a territorial lot. It isn't just countries that fight between themselves, it's housing estates and villages and towns and counties. Ever known of a football match that didn't lead to an excited exchange of views? Nationality just gives everyone a central sense of belonging to something and is probably essential to stop warring tribes from emerging again.
