Re: Emma Watson to leave Potter? When you haven't yet thought about what you want to do, the fact that the money is there to do it has no meaning, really. People tend to make their lack of money into many reasons why they "can't" do whatever - when the reasons are usually many, many other factors that have nothing to do with money...once they start doing it, they figure this out.

Re: Emma Watson to leave Potter? I hope she doesn't. SOmetimes it's really difficult when there's an actor(ess) change in a movie for a character. Unless it very subtle! But I like her. She makes quite a good Hermione! ![]()

Re: Emma Watson to leave Potter? Being a huge Richard Harris fan, I was upset by the Dumbledore change (how dare he go and die! isn't the fans' interest more important than mortality?) for consistency reasons, although Gambon seems to be warming to the role as he progresses through films. In the interest of consistency, I hope Watson stays, but I have an ulterior motive. I think Emma Watson is hot, sixteen or no. That's right, I said it. I also must confess that she fits the Hermione bill rather well, unruly hair and all. And it isn't just that I've grown so used to her that I can't think of Hermy otherwise: I still choke every time I see Rupert Grint say, "Haaarrryyy" with that wavering, I-can't-control-my-bowels grimace on his face. Talented actor he may be, but fit my idea of Ron Weasley he does not.

Re: Emma Watson to leave Potter? I don't know, it's a bit of a wash for me. I've never thought the HP movies to be the epitome of fine acting. Save the elders of the cast, there hasn't been a single student portrayal that has dazzled me. I enjoy the films, but much in the same way people enjoyed Star Wars (another series of movies in which the charm of the films outweighed the subpar acting jobs). For me the only changes that would make a huge difference would be Snape, Voldermort and those other adult actors that have really become their respective characters. When it comes to Dumbledore, I do agree with the few above. His potrayal past Chamber of Secrets was too manic, and too menacing. Dumbledore does not have a "nasty" side, he has a powerful side, and in the books this is not shown as being snappy or aggressive, as was done in the films, but as a sort of subdued, sterness that gave the reader the impression that he meant business.
