Re: Why not Eriond.... Hi welcome... That's a thought but we would not have a good God of Angarak, also it was all part of the prophesies. Remember even Torak knew that Garen might become bad God of Angarak. He told Belgarion to kill him if that happened and that was written down a long time before Belgarion was born.

Re: Why not Eriond.... Geran: watched over/guarded by-Ce'Nedra, Brand, and the people of Riva Errand: watched over/guarded by-Polgara, Durnik, Belgarath, Beldin, and the Twins. IMO it's easier to kidnap Geran.

Re: Why not Eriond.... Eriond was already used by Zedar to stole the Orb. But, the time Zandramas became the Child of darkeness, Eriod was an adult. Her choice was obvious. A baby was easier to be used for her own goal of power.

In spite of this however, sneaking into a vast palace would be much easier regardless of its inhabitants than snatching Eriond from Polgara in the Vale. | ||

Re: Why not Eriond.... I'd go with the idea that it would have been easie to influence and work with Geran rather than Eriond, who had already touched the Orb and been a part of the adventure to recover it. He would have been aware of it's nature and what it could be used for and would have probably formed a fairly firm opinion of the forces at worj for light and darkness. Geran was still a baby and Zandramas could have moulded him to further her quest for power and dominion. He was also rather easier to kidnap.

Re: Why not Eriond.... i agree nesacat, tho Geran had already touched orb aswell. But i agree that Errand would have been more difficult to kidnap and more opinionated. Eriond would have been much too dangerous for Zandramas to manipulate.

Re: Why not Eriond.... Oh yes devilsgrin ... Geran had touched the Orb. It was part of that ritual all the heirs to that line were subject to. But he'd have had no pre-ceoceived ideas about it and not know anything of its history, which would have been made him perfect moulding-material.

Re: Why not Eriond.... Garion and the Orb was playing "Breaking down Gates" at Jarviksholm at the time Geran was kidnapped. Errand was playing in the vale where no angarak dared to walk for the precence of Aldur kept them from there. She needed garion at the Korim and had no guarantee that Garion would have come after errand as he would folllow his own son. She also needed Ce'Nedra To divulge the location.

Re: Why not Eriond.... zandramas, therefore, was an utterly brilliant manipulator then. More than worthy of the respect i had for her, and the fear and apprehension she invoked in others. This Child of Dark was FAR more dangerous than her predecessor.
