Re: Fallen Heroes

Just re-read waylander 2 whilst i was on holiday so fresh in my mind is senta. He was a good character and could easily have had a book of his own if he'd survived.

Re: Fallen Heroes

just thinking about Senta, He was blond, witty and handsome, just like sieben , and as druss is the descendant of Angel and whatshername, maybe sieben and druss got along so well because they were related? I know, not relevant, but still interesting, eh?

Re: Fallen Heroes

so damn many! nauda definetly, decado (cos he was cool) waylander, serbitor (i loved him)
even tenkah (spelling is wrong i think)
in fact, pretty much most of the sensitive cute type ones who usually end up dead, or the messed up ones, such as waylander and decado.

yeah. and david himself that made me cry, when i learnt about it. still does really. i crave a new book and there never will be one

Re: Fallen Heroes

For me one of the main characters in Legend was Gilad (preferred him above all the others apart from maybe Druss). Really wanted him to reappear at some point...

Re: Fallen Heroes

to the memory of Mr David Gemmell
Um druss and waylander, but in someways something i liked about Gemmell was his willingness to kill of major charachters and minor charachters you had just fallen in love with, something that made him so readable in a genre full of unkillable heroes. just my pennyworth

Re: Fallen Heroes

If Jaim had survived his character would not have been nearly as awe inspiering. The whole point of his was to show the true heroic spirit that Gemmell tries to place into his characters. Jaims basically epitomizes the character, and though I love Jaim if he didn't die he wouldn't be half the hero he became because of the manner of his .

Re: Fallen Heroes

Who was the commander of delnoch who survived to the end and later was turned into a warebeast. I think it was Orin?
Shame he went the way he did.

Re: Fallen Heroes

I would have to go with Nuada or Bison. I felt both had more to offer to the other characters however their deaths just added to the greatness of the books.

Re: Fallen Heroes

The whole point of these deaths though was to inspire. Also, because it suited the storyline.

Decado and Ananias? couldn't of survived as they would of gone against their best friend Tenaka when he attacked years later.

Jaim died to kickstart the Rigante reveloution.

Waylander died because it was the only way he'd be able to survive an encounter with the demon.

For me though, I would of preferred to see Kray survive the posioned bolt and fight Druss.
