No, they're Brummies! We try not to hold their accent against them, even if it is annoying.

Thats how my stepdad finished his time Mark working on the Typhoon, but he hated sitting behind a desk, after spending most of his career in the air in Tornados and testing etc!! Small world eh?

Saw you new art work very good although you seemed not a 100% happy? I may be wrong?

To be fair as I pointed out in my earlier postings It was the cover of Imp Spy that drew me to read the blurb. I will be lining your coffers this weekend. Do we get a, I kinda know the author discount? lol

I probably refuelled him at various times, Memnoch. I flew Victors and VC10s in the refuelling role for many years.

Oh, I'm 101% happy with the artwork. I think it's fantastic. I'd mentally pictured the panther differently, but I think this actually works better than my idea - it focuses the eyes more centrally on the image. These artists are very clever people. They know what they're doing.

An 'I kinda know the author' discount! I like the sound of that. Perhaps I should suggest it during my next meeting with my publisher.

Re: Would you buy a book from this man?

Hmmm, I think I DID buy a book from this dude in WH Smiths, in the Cribbs Causeway Mall in Bristol. Though I was fresh out of hospital A&E and high on much needed painkillers, so he may have just been a figment of my over-medicated imagination. Kinda like the giant blue penguin who kept following me around that day...

Are you planning to tour the new book in the Bristol area, Mark? I think it would be kinda cool to pick up each new book in a series direct from the author himself.

Oh yeah, and that artwork rocks. Gothic chic indeed.

was the panther bit meant to be the "T"? It's excellent anyway.

Have you ever ventured to Blackpool for a book signing or Meet n Greet?

Exactly. I sometimes refer to southerners as people from south of the Tees, but only on generous days.

I have never known many tight Geordies, especially when it comes to drinking.

Re: Would you buy a book from this man?

When I saw that picture I thought it was Northampton. That's where I met you Mark. Nice one. Gotta love the hometown!

Oh and you're absolutely right about moving around a lot during book signings. Think we did a few laps of the shop (not quite both floors) before you actually signed them! Was all good...

Are you planning on having another signing in Northampton for Imperial Assassin? Would be good to have a catch up... or second meet so to speak...

Then I could sell the policemen some books, and all those down at the station after they arrest me, and all my fellow prisoners after I'm locked up ... and I would have plenty of time to write a stonking bestseller, come out of prison and be rich and famous! Good plan. It has a lot of merit.

Only kidding, Charles.

Yes, Sparker. In early December. The details will go up on www.markrobsonauthor.com in the news section during the next couple of days.

As for your stepdad, I'm sure we've crossed paths. The name is very familiar. However, I can't put a face to the name at the moment. It's not really surprising, though. I met a lot of fast jet mates whilst I was a tanker pilot, but other than those I taught whilst I was a flying instructor, I never really got to know that many well.

How I prepare and plot my novels will require a more long-winded answer. I'll try to put one on in the next couple of days.

Just bought Imperial Spy and The Forging of the Sword, they sound like good books. I decided to buy them parly from reading your posts here on the forum, Mark.

Re: Would you buy a book from this man?

Thanks, Aleksei. Goodness only knows why reading my posts would make you want to buy them, but now that you have, I hope you enjoy the reading.

If I were able to influence your choice on which to read first, I would say read Imperial Spy. Even though it's later in the timeline, I'd like to think people are judging me by my writing now, rather than where I started from. Besides, you don't need to have read any of The Darkweaver Legacy to read Imperial Spy.

Re: Would you buy a book from this man?

Having just read the entire darkweaver series I enjoyed watching your writing progress. I don't think where you you started from was a bad place and I wouldn't worry about us judging you negaitvely for it. The later books definately have more complex story lines and characters but the early books were enjoyable for their freshness. Am looking forward to starting the imperial spy.

Can I ask, did you really enjoy writing them as it really feels like that as a reader and I always think that gives books an extra something?
