New Boards opened

A number of new author boards were requested a while ago - tonight I set time aside to set them up.

New boards:

Terry Brooks
Stephen Donaldson
Steven Erikson
Raymond E Feist
Stephen King
China Mieville
Tad Williams
Tim Powers

It is highly recommended that if you would like to discuss, or ask any questions about any of the particular authors or their works, then pelase do visit the Authors Section of the site.

Brian, how bout a board for non sci-fi authors. i mean, i read a lot, and not all of it is sci-fi fantasy.

or how about letting people create the new author boards instead of being restricted to what is already there?

The creation of boards is more a response to if a particular author has a number of discussion threads running in the general book discussion area.

So if there are a number of threads about a specific author, the author gets their own board.

I guess it's akin to a library system, creating a heirarchical structure according to what information is actually present.

By all means, everyone is encouraged to discuss whatever books and authors they like.

As for general non-sf books - so far it's just been a case of posting them in the general book discussion. There are no hard and fast rules about where the content should go. If it's not sff then it doesn't matter.

i've noticed the authors now have their own forum. great to see them no longer all squishied together.

Sorry, yes - I changed a couple of things but wasn't sure whether they required their own announcement.

The first is that I no longer have subforums listed on the index page - it was making everything look very messy.

I also had a request to make the Authors section top level, so that it would be much more visible, and I agreed that it was a good idea.

Just need to clarify something

In the Authors forums, there are individual forums named for specific authors (I've got that)

However, do you post messages about other authors in that forum, do they appear as seperate threads with the named forums above it?

OR

Do you continue posting in the Books forum for any other authors?

The Phoenix Child review was a false review set up by the author - who was Phoenix, one of the members here. Effectively, it was self-advertising, so I binned it with disgust.
