That would mean that Dumbledore is either James Potter's / Lily Evans's grandfather, or that he's actually Harry's father. The latter seems very unlikely and kinda weird.

On the other hand, a wise bearded man having a child and then giving it to two young people reminds me of another famous book.

Re: Harry's cloak

No, he can't be Dumblydore's son as he is the image of his father, except his eyes, he has Lily's eyes!

Just a crackpot theory like I said, I don't dismiss anything out of hand where Potter's concerned, you just never know!

Re: Harry's cloak

There has been some minor speculation that Dumbledore is James Potter's Grandfather making him Harry's Great-Grandfather but... I don't think that is true.

Also about Harry looking like Lily as far as the eyes go well there are such things as glamours... who knows who Harry Potter's real parents are

Re: Harry's cloak

Oh no, I don't think it's a glamour, I do think he is the child of James & Lily. It's just we have no idea who their families are. We know some about Sirius', we even know about Voldy's but nothing about Harry's, just leaves it wide open is all.

Just a little gripe of mine though is that throughout the books, Harry is said to have brilliant green eyes and JK has even said in interviews that the colour of his eyes is actually quite important yet in the films, he has blue eyes - very annoying!

Yeah the only thing we know is that Petunia is supposedly Harry's Aunt and that James' parents had him when they were older, were purebloods and took Sirius in and what we have seen in the mirror in book 1.

About the eye color when they mess up we are not suppose to notice as it is seen as too minor

Re: Harry's cloak

I've heard that Harry having the same eyes as Lily is supposed to be very important in book 7 - personally, I think Harry is the legitimate son of James and Lily Potter, and Dumbledore is just a powerful old wizard who sees enough into the future to know that Harry will one day face V, thus he prepares him for the inevitability.

Re: Harry's cloak

Could it be that James is still alive? JKR has only confirmed that Lily Evans/Potter is dead, it's strange how she singled Lily out for that statement and didn't include James.

Just a weird little thing I've picked up.

I just want Book 7, I wish she'd hurry up and finish it...

xx

[EDIT]: She also put paid to my Dumbledore is a relative of Harry's theory!!! Turns out he isn't. I still think he might be descended from Godric Gryffindor though.

Re: Harry's cloak

I reckon Lily's eyes will be important because Snape liked her, and he will see her eyes whenever he sees Harry - helping him to save the day at the end of the book

Re: Harry's cloak

Snape is not evil he was acting under Dumbledore's orders so there is no need for him to be stopped.

I agree with you completely - but no one else in the Potter world will. To them, he is now evil, and needs to be stopped.

I think Snape is the best character, and I also think dumble is bright enough to factor his own death into his plans. Snape is still good!

Re: Harry's cloak

All right Ada you got me thinking about some real crackpot theories, thanks!

First of all. I have always felt that something was wrong with Dunbledore in the last 2 books or so. he made some tactical mistakes and in the GoF he put Harry's life clearly in danger.

All right, I had thought about this before but...

Also, they say that ol' Dumblydore is the only wizard alive who is a match for Voldy, another reason that he could possibly be a descendant of one of the 4 greatest wizards of the age.

What if Harry's father was a descendant of Dumbledore and Harry's mother (muggle) was related to Tom Riddle in some way? That would be probably be too much, plus Harry has not truly proven that he is a "great" wizard...yet.

Just a thought.

By the way, i guess this post had nothing to do with the cloak!
