First Book

Hey,
I've often looked at Robin Hobb's books but i've never come to buy one yet.
Can anyone reccomend a book that sums up Hobb's style.

Maybe a stand alone book, something fiarly straight forward.

Thanks

Re: First Book

Start with The Farseer trilogy as it's easily the best. I'm not sure if she's done any stand alone books, but maybe someone else could help me out . . .

I know she did at least one stand alone as Megan Lindholme, Wizard of Pigeons I think it was called.

After

Farseer
Liveship Traders
Tawny Man

Your post reminded me that many years ago I had a bookmark for a site which had the read order for all sorts of authors and book series. It's long gone, I wonder if there is another one somewhere. That could be handy.

I really enjoyed wizard of the pigions but I don't think it is in any way representative of anything else I've read of hers. If you are looking for typical Hobbs this is not it. You wouldn't know it was the same author.

I think I prefer the Hobbs stuff.
