New Mark Robson Website

With many thanks to Brian I now have a bright, spangly-looking new website at www.markrobsonauthor.com As is only appropriate, this place features as my official forum and there will shortly be links to other authors' sites with whom I have some connection (either through Chronicles, or who have become acquaintances through other meetings).

If anyone has any suggestions of things they would like to see added, then please let me know. One suggestion that I hope to implement next year is a section on the site for exclusive downloadable short stories (free of course) set in Thrandor and Shandar that will not be in print anywhere else. I've already had requests for tales about Bek and Derra, which I shall certainly look to write at some point.

Re: New Mark Robson Website

It's good that you've got a nice .com website. It looks cool, easy to read and browse, which is always handy.

One thing i've just noticed is how awesome the covers for Trail of the Huntress and The Chosen one are. I'm not normally a fan of fantasy cover illustrations, simply because they suggest what a character should look like, which can ruin some of the fun for me. But they are awesome work.

I saw Imperial Spy in Heffers in Cambridge the other day, but sadly had no money left. It was quite the experience seeing it there though, having seen you around here on Chronicles. If i don't win it in that beautiful competition, i will certainly splash out on it soon.

As for website suggestions, i like your idea of short stories appearing on there. Other than that, i dunno. If i think of anythink, i'll come back

I agree with MJRevell: the covers are awesome and make me (even more) interested in your books.

The entire site looks polished, strong, and professional and is easy to navigate. The testimonials from schools that you've visited is an excellent selling point.

Nicely done, Mark (and Brian!)

Mark,

This looks excellent - well done to you and Brian.

Two suggestions for additions: (1) a Q&A section on the "About Mark" page, so people can find out a little more about you, and find out answers to all the questions you're asked most often without having to come onto Chronicles Network (which might be initimidating for some, at least at first?); and (2) an interview with the author, so first time visitors, and those who haven't yet met you online here, can get a feel for what you're about.

Just suggestions though. Love the front page of the website - really strong design.

Good suggestions, Patrick. I shall look into implementing those in due course.

Thanks, MJ and Brown Rat. I appreciate the comments. I look forward to seeing what you think of Imperial Spy when you get around to reading it, MJ.

Just to prove how good it does look, i came across this website: www.princeofnothing.com earlier, and it doesn't take an artists eye to see yours is the more profesh looking of the two.

Mark,

When did the redesign of your website go live? I've just visited it for the first time in a few days, and it looks really great, with the artwork of all your current, and forthcoming, books along the top and down the side.

(For anyone who doesn't have it on their favourites list already, the URL is Mark Robson: Official Homepage of the Best-Selling Author of Fantasy Fiction for Young Adults )

It wasn't long ago, Patrick. A few weeks at most. There are more exciting things afoot with the website as well. I'll start another thread for this shortly.

Glad you all like it, though. I think it looks great. Brian is a star!
