William Shatner Roast - Comedy Central

Last night I watched Comedy Centrals Roasting of William Shatner.

It was hysterical. Catch it if you can and here are a few tidbits.

There were about a dozen or so roasters, and they each roasted the presenters as well as Bill, in most cases they were actually kinder to Bill than the other roasters.

First off, this show was Raunchy and Dirty. I don't mean a little bit dirty or risque ... if this was not edited it would not be an R rated show, it would have been pure XXX. Luckily, it was so raunchy that even the editing could not hide what was being said.

There were a slew of the expected. Many comments on Shatner being a fat, alcholohic, no-talent actor who is an even worse singer. Shatner took the roast very well, laughing at almost everyone's digs. He was truly enjoying his time.

A few words on George Takei .. Oh My God! He was unbelievably funny. First off, almost every single roaster actually roaster George with some kind of gay / sulu joke. Most of them were pretty funny, and he was rolling on the floor. But when he came on stage, he totally slammed and had the place rocking. I could not believe how much fun he had with the gay-man star trek stuff .. it was pure comedy gold.

There were many others there as well, from Kevin Polack and his Kirk immitations to Patton Oswals who really came off as a true fan-boy. Sandra Bullock and Ben Stiller had some funny video-clip messages and Betty White, Farah Fawcett, Artie Lang and others roasted each other as well as Bill.

Lastly, there were a few special performances. Clint Howard dressed like a full size Balock from TOS was great, and Andy Dick dressed up like a Vulcan as the love child of Kirk and Spock (thus his last name was Kock). Andy was a bit out of control as usual .. but that little skit was funny.

Overall, I'd say it was a fun roast with some knee slapping funny parts. Catch it if you can folks!
