Danny, Dorne and other stuff

just some random thoughts I had floating around. WOO RANDOMNESS!!! *runs around a tree for 10 mins*

1,Do we know where the prince of Dorne is? (the one thats off looking for Danny). He's across the sea somewhere looking for her.
2,Have we met him?
3,Do we have a description?
4,Any chance he could be that mercenary captain with the purple eyes, the one that Danny likes?
5,The Tangs often married Dornish people when there wasn't any other Tangs didn't they?
6,Any chance the Dornish prince could have purple eyes like the Tangs?
7, Is this why the Tangs married dornish people?
8, Are they somehow distantly related?( the origional Tangs and the origional Dorns)


oh yea and on a seperate thought could littlefinger and the prince of Dorne(the actual prince,the old guy) be in cahoots trying to set Danny up as queen?
if so Danny will have it easy when she goes west Dorne+Eyre(east) and maybe through Sasna the north apart from Bolton and maybe a few others. Maybe even Stannis when the red woman with him sees thats Danny is the real phrofesy/profesy <sp?> person though i seriously doubt that it would be that easy

Tangs? That's a Chinese dynasty. We commonly call the Targaryens Targs for short.

The Dornish have dark complexions and brown/black eyes. Pretty much the opposite of Valyrian features.

As for the mercenary captain, he could be Quentyn, if Quentyn was like thirty years old and had led a mercenary company in Slavers Bay for years. I think not.

No, we have not actually "met" Quentyn yet. If he's anything like his father or sister (Arianne) then we are in for a treat. The specualtion is that the new POV in ADWD will be Quentyn as he comes across the Narrow Sea with his maester to go to Dany. Hopefully, her will meet up with Tyrion as well.

Actually the Dornish are incredibly diverse.
The original dornishmen are light skinned, the ones which came across the Narrow Sea with Nymeria where the dark-skinned ones and they settled in southern Dorne mainly I think.
Werthead or Raven will know more about that sort of stuff.
And Dario Naheris (sp) wasn't the captain of the mercenary outfit, he was one of their subleaders. He killed the two above him & took charge that way.
No way of telling how long he was with them beforehand, although it is a bit of a stretch to say that he's Quentyn as in AFfC we got the impression he'd only recently set off so timeline wise, it shouldn't be him.

All of the Dornish have dark complexions except for those in the mountains who are fairer. One of Arriane's friends had freckles, I believe. The rest are just dark to different degrees. The Daynes, however, DID have violet eyes, but GRRM has said that they are not related to the Targs.

Prince Quentyn Martell, oldest son and second-oldest child of Prince Doran Martell of Dorne, is currently on a ship somewhere in the Narrow Sea, heading east to Slaver's Bay.

Nope.

He's a couple of years younger than Arianne, who's 23, and is reportedly quite handsome. He is loyal to his father, although he has spent most of his youth as a ward of Lord Yronwood.

No. Quentyn departed Dorne just before the start of AFFC, or roughly around the same time that Dany met the mercenary captain.

Not quite. King Daeron II Targaryen married Princess Myriah Martell as part of a two-pronged deal to bring Dorne into the Seven Kingdoms. The deal was concluded some 40 years later when Daeron II's youngest sister married Prince Moran Martell in 197 AL, after Dorne's troops turned the tide at the Battle of Redgrass Field during the Blackfyre Rebellion. Prince Rhaegar Targaryen later married Princess Elia Martell, but that was more of a calculated insult delivered by King Aerys II to his Hand, Lord Tywin Lannister.

No. The Daynes have purple eyes but they have no link to the Targs.

Nope, poltiical reasons.

No. The Dornish are descended from the Rhoynar, whilst the Targaryens are descended from the Valyrians. The Rhoynar and Valyrians were bitter foes; the Valyrians drove the Rhoynar from the eastern continent in a bitter war and the Rhoynar fled to Dorne.

Possible, but unlikely. Littlefinger is playing his own, complex game. Littlefinger may know about Dany, but not the details yet.

The Lannisters, Tyrells, Freys and Boltons would stand against Dany. They have too much to loose. The Arryns' and the Storm Lords' reaction will be unknown. Only Dorne is likely to declare for Dany straight away. The Greyjoys have their own plans for Dany which are still unfolding.
