Done the Impossible

Has anyone gotten a copy of Done the Impossible, the newly purchaseable documentary of how Serenity came to be made? I went to the site that sells the DVD, but the shopping cart requires PayPay, which I refuse to use.

I'm dying to see the film. If anyone knows of a way to purchase the DVD without using PayPal, please let me know. (It's available on BitTorrent, but I'm not interested in obtaining it that way; I want to support the people who made the documentary by paying for it, fair and square).

And if you've seen the documentary, please share shiny tidbits here to torment--um, inform--hapless Browncoats like me.

Here's the link to the site: http://www.donetheimpossible.com/

Re: Done the Impossible

I still haven't seen it, but I want to. The trailers look awesome. Particularly the Joss Whedon interview ("When they cancelled the show I felt great! Wait, no, the other thing)

Re: Done the Impossible

I emailed the people who made and are selling Done the Impossible, telling them that I'd like to buy the DVD but don't want to use PayPal. They let me know that it's now available on Amazon, so I zipped over and ordered a copy. Now all I have to do is wait!

It's available on amazon? I didn't know that. I have no excuse for not getting it now.

Re: Done the Impossible

I just watched Done the Impossible. It's cool to see all the Browncoats enthusing about the series and the movie and having fun at cons and shindigs, one big happy family keeping the dream alive and the ship flying.

Several people in the documentary mentioned that they first got hooked on the series when Mal pushed the guy into the engine. As soon as I heard the first fan say that, I turned to my husband and said, "Yeh!"

The documentary makes me even more determined to spread the word and make converts by loaning out my copies of the series and the movie and by giving DVDs of both to more people for birthdays. Everyone--absolutely everyone, from my boss to my mom--to whom I've loaned or given copies of the series so they could watch it for the first time has said they love Firefly and has expressed frustration that it was cancelled.

Heh heh. Me too! How often have you seen a "good guy" be lenient to a "bad guy" only to have it come back and bite him on the ass? And the whole time you'd be yelling at the TV :"No! Don't let him go! He's never going to reform! He hates you! Just KILL him!" I guess Mr Whedon knows that frustration well.

Ditto. Which makes me even more angry at the way the series was originally treated with episodes being skipped, and over here, being shown at ungodly hours and probably out of order.
