dresden dolls anyone?

hello
was just wondering if anyone else here liked the dresden dolls? i think they're really great, and since none of my friends do, i was just interested to know if others liked them too. and since i have far too much time on my hands *second last day of the holidays here* .... well this is a result.
i really love their new album and i was soooo annoyed with myself because they were playing in the cathouse in glasgow and i didnt get to go and see them anyway, i wont miss that chance second time around

Haha, I should've known that was the inspiration behind your name. I just posted something about them in your intro post, but yeah, I like them. I wasn't too keen on "A is for Accident," but "Yes, Virginia" is a good album.

yeah, it was I don't think they have 'a is for accident' in Britain, but maybe im wrong. Their first self titled album was pretty good though.
i've been trying to find music in a similar vein to them, but it's been kinda hard. i like regina spektor though, how about you?

I've never heard of Regina Spektor, but I might have to give her a shot. Their style is hard to find because it's still, for the most part, rather original. I guess that's what drew me to them, too.

Amazing band!

Saw them at wireless 2005 before it went rubbish this year, they're the first on and just phenomenol and its rare that ii say that about a band that has no pyrotechnics because they had none..

They're new album is really good too, so go and drink your listerine!

Favorite songs? I'd say nearly all of Yes, Virginia qualifies in one way or another, depending on what I want to hear. Sex Changes, First Orgasm, and Mandy Goes to Med School win in the bizarre lyrics department, though.

Re: dresden dolls anyone?

yeah, i agree.
if i were narrowing it down, i'd probably say:
*in no particular order*

1. bad habit
2. gravity
3. the perfect fit
4.bank of boston beauty queen
5. girl anachronism *first song i ever heard by them, it's great*
6. glass slipper
7. mrs o
8. necessary evil
9. good day
10. my alcoholic friends
11. me and the minibar
12. truce
13. sex changes
14. thirty whacks

guess the song...

i'm taking back the number of the beast, cos 6 is not a pretty number, 8 or 3 are definitely better

Bad Habit is my favorite. It makes me want to cut myself.

Very original and very talented duo.
