Seriously, if there is one anime everyone should watch, it's Guilty Crown. It's epic. Was so disappointed with the second season of Last Exile, the first was brilliant. the second isn't bad, but its not even close to the first season in terms of quality.

| Re: What are you currently watching? Darker than Black doesn't work for everyone, but if it does work for you, it really works for you. The various manga, however, are pretty weak. Don't watch the series in the order it aired - watch them in chronological order. Season One, the OVA, then Season Two. |

It's quite dark in parts–think Death Note–and tends towards a noir-ish feel, and I luuuuurvvveddd it. That being said, I know some people had issues with the show not really going into explicit detail regarding the hellgate/contractors, and the inconclusive nature of the first season's ending. Personally I felt that the information given was adequate given the feel of the story, and that the story itself was one of the more unique ones I've seen. The two-episode arc format was also quite refreshing, allowing for greater development of minor characters. And I don't know why, but for some reason this reminded me I need to start watching FMA: Brotherhood ![]() edit: Wish is right. Watching the OVA before season two is a must.

| Re: What are you currently watching? The endings of all anime/manga whatever related to Darker than Black are never good. They're weird, lazy, incomprehensible copouts. It's a testament to how good the rest of the show is that people don't view that as a deal breaker. The way that the show doesn't hold your hand can be a plus or a minus depending on what you like. It is indeed very dark, but unlike Death Note, not full of plot holes. (Mostly because the plot is very vague and compartmentalized.) FMA: Brotherhood is worth everybody's time. I'm an anime curmudgeon; I don't recommend a lot of shows. But Darker than Black worked for me - the Kanno Yoko soundtrack helped. And Brotherhood is just so dang well done you won't believe it. |

| Re: What are you currently watching? I've revisited Robotech recently that a friend gave me as a gift. I loved that show. It's the 36 episode Rick Hunter series I'm talking about and I remember being a fan of G.I. Joe but despising that lack of realism in the show and then discovered Robotech. I was hooked. The fact that it had a story and people, MAIN characters died, well, I have appreciated anime ever since. And who didn't love at least one of Minmei's cheesy songs? |

| Re: What are you currently watching? 1966 -1967 Spider-Man cartoon series Spider-Man, Marvel Comics wise-cracking web-slinging superhero, is a science fiction/fantasy, action cartoon. He battles a huge varitiy of villains ranging from the interesting to the absurd. The artwork from 1966 is sharply illustrated with bright colors, where as the 1967 series used much more darker colors and surreal backgrounds thanks to artist Ralph Bakshi. Both seasons are very different, the 1966 season was aways cheerful, the villains usually had unusual super powers and wore costumes, or were just laughing mad men. The 1967 series had elements of what was going on at the time, such as race riots, hippies, beatniks, war, space travel, politics and real-life criminals. Ralph Bakshi decided to make most of the villians with green skin to show that not all bad people are white, black, red or yellow, a definate reflection of the time. Overall, I enjoy watching Spider-Man save the day, his alter ego Peter Parker struggling through lifes many difficulties, and the scenes set to cool music. |

| Banishment this world! | Re: What are you currently watching? Just finished watching both seasons of Aquarion. It was interesting, a bit cheesy at some points, but overall had an enjoyable story. I thought the characters in the first season were better than the second. Rewatching Eureka Seven, in preparation to watch the new series Eureka Seven AO. The new season looks really, really good. I'm hoping it will fill the gap that Guilty Crown left after it finished. Also watching Mourestu Pirates. Quite entertaining. Also recently finished watching Maid Sama (Kaichou wa Maid-sama). It's not often that a comedy takes my fancy, but this one did. I think it's the first comedy anime to make me laugh since Ranma 1/2. |
