Re: Buffy Books

I don't even have all of them! Just been buying my next fix off ebay! There must be about a hundred! There's still plenty of Buffy to get through!

Re: Buffy Books

I have to admit that I have never read a Buffy book. I had not even heard about them until I came on here... my local bookstore doesn't seem to carry them or at least they couldn't find them

Are there any books about Giles?

Re: Buffy Books

Yes there are, there's "The journals of Rupert Giles", I've got volume 1, not sure if they've brought the rest out yet though. X

Re: Buffy Books

I have another question are there any books set before the series or after the series?

Re: Buffy Books

Yes. There's "Buffy the Vamire Slayer (movie tie-in), there's "Viva Las Vegas" in the comics, and for after the series there's "Queen of the Slayers" and nore to come! X

Re: Buffy Books

Pretty Maids All In A Row was set before the series, but that's a Spike/Dru story.

Re: Buffy Books

Some are ordinary, some average, some above average. You are never too likely to get 5/5 type books or writing with media tie-in fiction, as people do it for hire, quickly, in general.

Doesn't mean that some can't be good. I enjoy them, in general.

Re: Buffy Books

I recently finished reading Afterimage, which I received as a gift from Asmiley. It was okay, but Mr. Askegren didn't have a strong grasp on the personalities of the main characters. He did a better job (understandably) with his own creations, particulary Amanda and Balsamo. I wish that he would have written Amanda as more crucial to the story (such as being a powerful witch who helps the gang fight Balsamo), since he initially sets her up to be that. However, I did like his treatment of Xander and Cordelia's ambiguous relationship, and thought that it equal or surpassed the portrayal on the TV series (which I never quite believed).
