I'd wouldnt like to see Doggett in this, or Reyes although i do like her, because i miss the old days when you'd turn on the tv to watch the XF's and you'd know that it'd be a good ep, well most of the time anyways. Now i turn it on hoping against hope that its half-decent. so i dont want Doggett or Reyes to be in the next movie, for that reason.

Bay - Thats the buzz. And if they're not planning it, they're thinking about planning it

I totally agree! The X-Files legend has to live on somehow! If not through episodes, then we can have one BIG episode every couple of years as movies!

Merged 'Second X-Files Movie' and 'Next Movie' threads.

Bowman Has X-Files 2 Ideas
Quote:
Longtime X-Files director Rob Bowman told SCI FI Wire that he would helm a second X-Files feature film if the same crew could be assembled, but added that he has not yet been asked to sit in the director's chair. Bowman helmed the first X-Files movie, which was subtitled Fight the Future. "I only hope to be [involved] if [X-Files creator] Chris [Carter] wants me to do it," Bowman said in an interview. "If Chris calls me and says, 'We're going to put the crew back together, and we just can't see it without you,' and if the timing is right and the availability is right, then I would say yes."

After the series finale left so many questions unanswered for fans, Bowman could not guarantee that a film would answer any more. "What are the questions? What are the answers you want? I directed many of the conspiracy episodes, the mythology stories, and a lot of it was prove and disprove. So it's one step forward, two steps back, and it became a very complicated knot to untie. I think the next one will be just a stand-alone [story]." Bowman most recently directed Reign of Fire, which opens July 12.

I dont really want it to be a stand-alone movie i havent seen the latter half of S9, but, IMHO we've had more than our fair share of Stand-alone eps in S8 and (from what i can gather, tho i could be wrong) S9 as well. Until i've seen S9 i cant really say much more on this other than i hope Bowman does fill the director's seat again along with CC and the crew, and i hope that David Duchovny will be joining them.

Talking CONFIRMATION OF SECOND MOVIE...

Here is an article from the brilliant SFX -

"Thought that The X-Files had ascended to the great, smoking filing cabinet up in the sky? Time to reconsider. Mulder and Scully's small screen work may be done, but Chris "Christ, I've lost the track of my own plot" Carter is finalising plans for a second shot at the big screen for the trust-chasing twosome. Good news for anyone bored witless by all that life-crushing carry-on with the bees and the black oil and the zzzz shape shifting zzzz bounty hunters...Carter promises that the new movie will be a standalone caper divorced from the shows murky mythology. Filming begins next year for a projected 2004 release. But will David Duchovny bite the career bullet and return to the role he once left for dust? 'I would do it in a minute,' he says. Good man."

What does everyone think?
