I was thinking about the new girl and how they would explain it if she was already cyber-fied. they can't turn them back from that so unless she is going to be a twin sister or something corny like that, she'll be a band new character and just ignore the fact the actress played another part previously - certainly wouldnt be the first (or I suspect) last time a series has done that before

the guy who was Andrew in Buffy was previously a vamp in Harmony's "gang of minions" before ! (v. funny ep!)

We'll have to see
And good news about Capt Jack !

Half the "lead extras" in seasons after about seven in Stargate SG-1 and those of Atlantis have been in the earlier episodes of SG-1...

And lets not forget that Dr Who has been doing it for years.

Just a couple that spring to mind:

Colin Baker first being a guard on Gallifrey before becomming Dr number 6. And Lala Ward first being Princess Astra before becomming Romana.

(although, with Lala Ward they at least tried to explain it in the Story.)

Oh, and dont forget the guy that played Harry in the Pertwee years. Now I think about it, I think even Nicholas Courtney had appeared in the Troughton years as a different character before the Brigadier.

Edit : Bring back the Brigadier !!!!

Another EDIT : I thought Captain Jack was getting his own show ? Perhaps he will be in season 3 for just a couple of episodes to launch his new spin off show

That's true. And I did wonder if she might be another Timelord for that reason, but it doesn't seem so.
They should bring back the Brigadier, but Nicholas Courtney is getting on a bit now. Not sure how old Benson would be. What about an episode with Jo and him brought back.

He is. It is called 'Torchwood' and will be on BBC3 - see separate thread - They say that there will be no crossovers between 'Doctor Who' and 'Torchwood' so I assume by that Jack must only appear in a specific episode of the new Season in a specific storyline, and also that the Doctor will not appear in 'Torchwood'.

Re: Season 3?????

Hitler/Stalin sounds interesting, in fact it sounds really good!!

How about a black and white episode, landing on a planet where colour does not exist...

An alternative Earth where Rose appears but as a bad girl and the Doc has to destroy her.

from Hailing Frequencies #344

Issue #372 of Doctor Who Magazine includes the news that make-up designer Sheelagh Wells gets replaced by Barbara Southcott for the third season, the director for the first two episodes of the season is Charles Palmer, wit the first episode written by Russell T Davies and the second by Gareth Roberts. Writers Stephen Fry and Matthew Graham won't be writing for the third season due to other commitments..
I also saw photos elsewhere of David Tennant running with Catherine Tate across busy traffic and of David wearing sunglasses.

Re: Third Series [SPOILER!!]

Sorry to reply to myself again but I have more spoilers for season 3 from the latest SFX magazine.

According to the September 2006 issue the Ice Warriors are returning next year.

It goes on to ask who next - Sea Devils, The Zarbi, The Tractators?

Actually, my favourites (after the Daleks and Cybermen) were the Sontarons. They only appeared about three or four times and so there is plenty more to discover about them.
