Fan Films There are quite a number of Trek fan film shorts floating around the net, some are even quite good. Try Hidden Frontier as one of the better ones. But there is now a full feature length film at www.starwreck.com available for download. Entitled Star Wreck: In the Pirkinning, it is a Star Trek/Babylon universe film cross over and apart from the minor irritation they are all speaking Klingon, Finnish or Double Greek, as far as film making is concerned it does stack up well against the later official Trek offerings

I've also heard good things about this 'starwreck' one, but also that it takes an hour and a half to download, even with broadband. You can get subtitiles, but that they aren't very close - phasers become 'twinklers' apparently - but maybe that is also a joke too. I'd still like to see it sometime though.

It is a 550Mb download and does take a good 45 mins to download on a 2Meg ADSL. Biggest problem is having to watch the subtitles. Not being fluent in Finnish I don't know how good the translation is, but there is a fair amount of slapstick in the film.
