How SG-1 should end?

Hmmmm -

With Martouf coming back and taking over the world b/c he's royally p'd off that he was killed way the heck back in S4 and could hardly get a guest spot until S9!

No - okay - how about something else:

.....

sorry - I'm drawin' a blank.

However - I will say that the episode "Ripple Effect" renewed my interest in the SG-1 fandom.

I'm still not so sure how I feel about the cast changes, but the show's growing on me again.

Actually I saw somewhere recently that the show cannot go more than another 2 years as they begin to lose money then as the cast and crew have all been there so long that their salaries will then eclipse ant possible revenues that can be generated. Sad, but a fact of life - the show will not continue if it is gaurenteed to lose money out of the chute no matter the ratings..

Does that mean their salaries increase automatically with each season?

I wonder if the show works differently than something like Law & Order that's going on, what, year 15 or 16? Maybe more - and Dick Wolf's hoping for 20 or better? Now, I know that the crew may not be the same crew they've had from the beginning (behind the scenes crew, we all know the cast-turnover) - but that doesn't mean there aren't a couple folks on the show that might break the bank.

But hey - I don't know that much about the tv industry.

Yes...Martin Cooper said that in a recent interview...I think it was him anyways...One of the producers said it ...

I don't think it'll have an proper ending...It'll be seen to continue without SG-1 in it's current form...

I've read that Amanda Tapping may not be going off-world that much this year as Claudia Black will be doing more of that sort of thing...It's changing again...Cooool!!...

Yep - it'll continue on and change right to the end of this season - then that's it.

It will not be seen to stop though...Like it said up there...They'll want it to still be there for specials...It'll carry on in novels too...Always the damn novels ;-) ...

Re: The End of SG-1

Oh no - there will be an open ending and the unreadable novels and the ever-present fanfiction.

Possibly even a TV movie.

Oh dear me, what a horrible and scarring way for such a great series to meet its end.

Re: The End of SG-1

I read somewhere that some of the SG1 characters are going to be absorbed into SGA. What does everyone think about that?

I'm still undecided. I adore Shanks and Tapping and (grudgingly) even Ben Browder and of course I'd like to see them playing the characters we all love. But Atlantis also has a great set of characters, who all have plenty of scope for development. I wouldn't want them to be 'pushed out of the way' for the big stars.

Re: The End of SG-1

If they can absorb the SG-1 cast, I say let them. I've already said in another thread that the Atlantis cast isn't really growing on me, aside from perhaps McKay. Besides, I'm sure the writers are smarter than to integrate them in a way that would crush the current cast.

Re: The End of SG-1

I'm pretty sure that Sci-Fi will want to have the option to use the SG-1 cast for guest shots on Atlantis at least a couple of times a season so I don't see any mass death or destruction of Earth on the horizon.

Most likely we just get a 2 part conclusion to the Ori story arc. Unless they want to hold that off for the inevitable TV movie that they'll want to do in a year or two's time.

Hey lets hope for the best maybe a mini-series like Farscape got?

So, who's seen the last episode of Farscape SG1 yet? What did you think? I liked it, and it was nice to see the actual stargate itself again!

Farscape SG1 lol

I haven't seen it yet. They aren't starting the last 10 episodes quite yet here in the US. So, I'm guessing your in Europe or Canada . . or something like that.

I don't want to read any spoilers, but is it anything like my The Scooby Doo / Soap Opera Ending that I posted on page 1 of this thread?
