Serenity Set about six months after the last events seen on the TV show. Whedon says, "The movie is bigger, more epic than anything you can do in a series."

My first experience with the crew of Serenity...

What a kick ass movie. I truly enjoyed it. Are the episodes of Firefly as good as that movie was?

I truly enjoyed Mal, River was awesome. Those reaver things (or whatever they were) were scary as hell.

I know there were inside fanboy stuff that Joss put in there for the Firefly fans that I probably missed.

I'm going to rent the Firefly discs and check it out.

I hope the movie does well because I'd love to see a sequel.

Yes, it was and I think you're really going to enjoy the TV show and come back to the movie with a deeper understanding. As well as, an appreciation of the characters of Book and Inara, who were included as a part of the ensemble, but had little to do in the movie.

You have to remember that the series developed the story much, much slower - Joss hoped to have time to tell the story at his pace. The movie had to serve both as a top drawer story for newbies and a series finale for the faithful, so heaps more were dealt with very quickly.

Also, you will find that Mal is much more edgy in the movie, in the series he's more likable and doesn't snap at the crew as much, but he will still kill anyone that threatens them.

Wouldn't we all! I'm still hopeful for something, but in the US it came in second in a very poor box-office weekend. I do have some hope that it will do better this weekend, because I think it's the kind of film that lot's of people would enjoy if they just find out about it in time.

The episodes are better than the movie ! Waaaaay better! And the movie was awsome so that should tell everyone something

Someday, when I grow up, I'm gonna write either a remake of the series or a sequel to it Yup

The episodes are definitely as good as the movie--and more satisfying, because you get to watch relationships develop over time, and you can spend days viewing all the episodes.

The only downside is that you'll get addicted and then go into withdrawal when you realize there's no more new stuff.

(Well, no more new stuff until Sketti grows up, I guess. )

I still can't understand why there's no one who wants to fund a continuation of the best series i've ever seen.

episodes are better than film because they're longer! 42 minutes each and, er.... 14 of them was it?

Oh hell yeah. I watched the series several times over before I would lend it to any of my friends. And I strongly advised them to buy their own copies.

I think the Serenity probably caused a surge in sales of the series on DVD. I went out and got the series after seeing the movie too. I think the cinema trailer was brilliant and did a lot to draw sci-fi and action viewers to it.

Hurry up and grow, Sketti!

I think it was a shame that the whole western theme was dropped from the film. I also missed the great theme tune from the series.

Don't believe it was axed either. Watched the movie and then bought and watched the series and really love it.

It's odd but I've not met one single person who did not love the series. I really don't understand why it got axed.
