in the end andromeda became sorbo's ego trip you had intresting characters forced out of the frame getting episodes a season and dylan getting the rest more detail on all the crew would have been desired from the writers what do you all think :alienooh:

What can I say, I just love Kevin Sorbo. I don't think he exactly take the spotlight of the other characters. We see a lot of the story of Trance, also of the other characters like Rhade etc. But it was imposible not to center everything around Dylan Hunt it was sort of inevitable since they make him the last of the Paradine. But I don't think it was Sorbo ego trip, it was simple the way they make the character. He was producing but he wasn't writing the stories. Anyway I really enjoy Andromeda a lot, is a shame that it have to end.

i have not seen the 5th season so i cannot say on storylines there but he always got the girl, the rumour he forced rhf out still exists. i am not slating his acting abilty because his performance in hercules was good but they way hercules ended you have to wonder about his professinal opinons. he said he wanted to be more of a captain kirk figure and get the girl. nothing wrong with that but kirk had a certain way about it, dylan was basically going for the kill from the start.:alienooh:

Well you must remember that the whole show was based primarily around the adventures of Dylan Hunt.

Gene Roddenberrys original notes were heavily geared toward Dylan Hunt so of course things would lean heavily toward the main charactor and his exploits.

From what I have seen,read on other sites. It seemed to be many factors in why Wolfe departed.

One thing I remember reading the powers that be at the Studio wanted it to be less Commonwealth and more of a episodic type show.

Personally,I think Andromeda would have lasted more seasons had they kept to the Season One through Three writings. After the Commonwealth had been re-established,they could have shown how they rebuilt the HighGuard Fleet etc. Perhaps revisited some scraped ships of the line,and refitted them.

I like Andromeda,and Kevin Sorbo. I think it was just many many factors and people with the power to change a show; that ended up with the other Actors not getting as much air time in some episodes. Remember, Lexa was out on Season Five on Maternity Leave. And also, the other actors were doing other movies,guest apperances too. So there are many reasons to consider. And no,Kevin has repeatedly defended himself on that Rumor that he pulled a God Modding trip and took over air time. He did not.
