As some of you already know, The Jim Henson Company is celebrating it's 50th Anniversary this year, and has been having events in celebration in honor of this momentus occasion (see the news story on the Museum of Television and Radio). It's pretty uncommon in Hollywood for a company to have that many years in the business - and I'm sure we can all agree that they've affected the industry in a lot of ways.

In the weeks prior to Hurricane Katrina, we were planning to put an ad in The Hollywood Reporter's Jim Henson Company's 50th Anniversary Commemorative Edition, which is coming out on September 20th. But once the hurricane hit and its devestation became evident, we decided that we couldn't in good conscience ask for donations for an ad.

Instead of an ad from the worldwide fans of Farscape honoring the 50th Anniversary of the Jim Henson Company, we now have a little something different in mind.

In a little over a week, we're going to be sending a gift basket to the Jim Henson Company congratulating them. What we'd like to do (aside from filling it with some goodies) is to make sure that they'll be getting greeting cards from the fans of Farscape congratulating them. And, it would be uber-cool if you could mention in your card which of their products you've been a fan of over the years. I know, for myself, I'm going to be thanking them for The Muppet Show, Sesame Street, Fraggle Rock, the Dark Crystal, and Farscape.
