| Just been re-watching S1's "Numbers" and "Exodus" episodes. And realised the plane was flight 815 (8, 15) departing from gate 23.... So did anyone else spot the (probably highly obvious, but I missed them) numbers being planted elsewhere in the season??? And does anyone dare play the Lottery with 4, 8, 15, 16, 23, 42 ? |

| I didn't spot the numbers until I read that article, but I'll be looking out now. A letter on 'Hailing Frequencies' says it's just a remake of 'Mysterious Island', that it is only good because everything else on TV right now is rubbish, and that fairly soon a Captain Nemo-like figure will turn up running the island. I like the spotlight each week on a different character. I think that gives it an originality. |

| Yes, they have already begun to look at characters a second time and it is very clever and well thought out how there are still things we don't know about them, but thought we did. Like Sawyer meeting Jack's father. We still don't know what happened to Kate's husband who went to the toilet, or the significance of the toy aeroplane. Maybe these will give more answers... Quote:

| I just watched the first main character die. I like a show that can do that. Apparently, there are more to follow yet. Quote:
4, 8, 15, 16, 23, 24 When you simply invert the 24 to make 42, that has had people going crazy. Is the Irish Lottery now cursed? They had better not cancel this show because I need to know the answers to 'the hatch' and 'the numbers'. | |

| The final episode of the first season is shown in the UK on Ch4 this week. I've been reading lots of speculation on other sites about what is really going on. There is a Channel 4 website called 'Lost: The Untold' that gives extra clues: http://www.channel4.com/entertainmen...lost/main.html There is a Henderson Island in the Pitcairns that matches the officer in charge of the accident investigation into flight 815, James T Henderson. There is also a Henderson Island in the Antarctic, though there are are no Polar Bears in the Antarctic. Ethan Rom is an anagram of 'other man'. The psychic told Claire her baby could not be raised by 'another'. Some suggestions have been made that they are not dead (and in Purgatory), but simply that the Island reads minds and makes thoughts and ideas come to life. Think of a guitar and it appears, think of being able to walk again and you can, read a comic book with Polar Bears and they appear. That doesn't explain many other things though. I'm still confused. |

| From interviews in the Channel4 book and extras on the R1 DVD it would seem the overall mythology is designed to play out for 2, 3 or more series at least, and they planned it that way so there's always more coming... |

| Wasn't the answer to what's inside the whatchyamacallit a little frustrating? And probably a little predictable too, like we were going to actually find something out at last? The business with the raft shocked me. I didn't expect that, and I've no idea why, or what happens next. As FeedMeTV says at least we don't have to wait too long for the Second Season. |

| Yeah, that's what I find most interesting. Along with myself and a few others, I've found that a few people are so frustrated with the show that they've given up watching. The whole show started like that... all this hype of "what the heck is happening?!" and at the end of each episode we get a little knowledge. For the most part we find out about these characters; however, also at the end of each episode we find ourselves with more questions and still this nawing question of "what the heck is happening?!" Frustrating indeed. It seems people are still sticking with it though according to the ratings and media. But how long can the viewers wait? How patient can we really be? After the last 2 episodes, I'm still on the fense of whether or not I'll keep watching. I'll keep at it every now and then, but if I miss an episode it's not a tragic travisty(sp) or anything. :rolly2: ![]() |

| I copied something from Zap2it a few posts back from one of the shows creators, Damon Lindelof. I think from that they are aware of that problem and will not keep us hanging on for ever. It was interesting what he said about Chris Carter and the X-Files because looking back at the X-Files I can see that now and they blame the studio for making him do it. As for missing an episode, there always seems to be something each week that might just be important. Really stupid little things thrown in at the start became whole subplots later on. |

| If anyone plays the UK National Lottery (aka Lotto), then this Saturday's draw of six balls included four of The Numbers... 4, 8, 16, 23 Would have won UKP34 (and who knows how much "bad luck"...) ![]() |
