Where is everybody ?

OK, I know I have probably been the slackest out of all of us and not posted in ages, but I thought I would visit and noticed there hasn't been any posts for ages.

Shelbs, Marty, Cat, Jad... Where is everyone ?

Allan

Im about, received the new thread notification a few days ago but ive had a busy week so havent had a chance to reply.... until now.

I'd like to fill you in on what i've been upto in the last few months, but i cant remember much past last weekend. So i'll start from the weekend. I worked all day saturday, was extremely stressful. Saturday night i had about 15 mates up at my house for a bit of a 19th celebration. Was loads of fun, many hazourdous drinking games and great stories. Only negative of the night was playing a few too many $100 blackjack hands at the casino.... Had to sleep all day sunday for some unknown reason :P

Monday we had to put down our 15.5 yr old golden retriever, was no fun at all he was a great companion, very sad not seeing him in the backyard. Tuesday i was at the dentists for half the day, turns out one of my molar teeth has decayed away ON THE INSIDE (not quite sure how that happens, but it was very very painful until mr penacillin came along, antibiotics are a godsend)

Wednesday and today i thought i'd better make some of my contact hours this week. But as none of my lectures speak english very well it was a waste of my time.... seriously my mechatronics lecturer starts talking japanese midway throuhg a sentence. My stress analysis lecturer is about 9 feet tall weighs probably 400 pounds and has a thick russian accent. He is one big scary unit... my bet's on that he could skull a bottle of vodka and still be standing.

Any spare time ive had this week has been watching all the episodes of firefly. Something i've been planning on doing for about 3 years now. I really enjoyed it, was a mix between farscape/battlestar/stargate. Unsure as the why the hell they stopped making em.

It's now thursday night, an im listening to the new motor ace album. Hasnt blown me away yet, it's much slower that their older stuff. Reminding me a lot of travis.

My plans for the weekend are to stay home. No way i am going out because i have about 30 assignments to write up, i have no money (damn blackjack) and am trying not to drink whilst im on antibiotics.

That is my life.

3 months later and only one reply eh? we really must be busy

well its exam time and what am i doing? teaching myself 12 weeks worth of lectures for 5 subjects in 2 weeks!! i love uni. I really deserve to fail some subjects this year but i have a great ability to be able to do bare minimum of work all year and just get over that 50% mark i harldy know anything about my degree im just able to recognise questions and compare them to an example question in the lecture notes. Yeah, i am going to be a dodgy engineer.

i've had a really awesome term socially, there's been some really crazy nights and totally enjoyable. Summer starts in 15 days after my last exam. I have plans to accomplish so much, but i know im gonna do bl00dy nothing for 3 months. I will road trip to whyalla for australia day that is a definate (australia day is the biggest day of the year for my mates and i )

Im still at the chicken place and it gets extremely repetitive every weekend. I'd like to look elsewhere for a job, but lenards is close by, my pay is decent (only because of my sunday shift), and i dare say after 5 years im pretty bloody good at making chicken snitzels :P

it took me about 3 years but i added to my stargate dvd collection with box sets 5,6 they were a bargain at $59.95.

i went and saw the whitlams a few weekends ago, they were bl00dy awesome i loved all of it. We were right in front of tim's piano, good times. I bought my coldplay ticket this week aswell, although its not till july and i can hardly get excited yet, i am very content as i got a floor ticket and they are bound to sell out very quickly.

well im sure, someone will read this and might slightly appreciate it :P see you in another 3 months

peace.

sounds like your living the high life there mate.

Well last week I had my last exam ever and it should have signalled the end of my uni career, but I will be back the year after next to torture myself with an honors thesis. Stupid I know. I could be graduating now but no, I am a sucker for punishment.

Still working at the ranch/and at sportsgirl, I kinda like the double life I lead - high fashion and sales one day, cowboys and indians another.

I had this great idea actually, except until I realised I will be in the US of A at the time but thought I would pass it on. Remember a few years ago we had a thread about music and bands and etc, well I seem to recall a few U2 songs coming up, they are one of my fav bands of all time. Thought it might be an idea to all meet up atone of the concerts they are having in Oz next year - I can be there in spirit and on speaker phone

Anyway just an idea for all us crazy aussie ascifi people to think about. Unless no-one sees the message until after the tix are all sold out. Other than that, still watching stargate religiously, loving atlantis, (a friend gets all season eps of SG1 and SGA on Xbox somehow, so we have an sg night every two weeks or so and watch 4-5 eps a night. Loving Atlantis, havn't seen any of stargate s9 yet, thats next week but am a little apprehensive, especially (better spoiler space in case some unknowings are listening in given my devotion to all things Jack, its gonna be weird without him. And even harder to keep up the Sam and Jack hope without Jack unless I can just pretend they are together and we just don't see it.....there is an idea (By the way Shelby and Jackers - we can always add to the S and J shipper thread - Weir/Sheppard - its not the same but you never know .....)

Anyway, cheerio until next time.
