Do you mean to produce new original episodes, or in reruns? Personally, I think they all ran their course, except for the oruginal series and for Enterprise. I'd like to see something new and fresh.

I agree w/Dave but please not a show set in 2010 (like the rumors about the next movie are saying). One of the reasons I didn't love Enterprise was it was only 150 yrs. in the future. Give me 24th, 25th, 26th, etc. or even 29th C. as we saw in a couple of eps. & I'll be happy.

I keep reading the new movie will be after Enterprise and before TOS. This doesn't thrill me; however, there's now talk of the movie being about an incident that started "everything." Also, that it won't have the standard captain and crew. Star Trek: The Beginning Another rumor I heard was people from the future coming back to help. Unfortunately, that one seems to have died down.

The concept described in your link is what Rick Berman said they were working on for the next film in the last 'Star Trek Magazine'. It could even be a trilogy!!! There are no current plans for any new series. I'm not sure about time travellers coming back from the future to help the present idea either. As Maria says, it isn't very Star Trek, and on the otherhand, as Ray said in the Star Trek IX thread, doesn't it sound too much like 'First Contact' again.

Please, NO TIME TRAVEL! Whenever the ST writers chose to do time episodes they insist on writing in jackboots and reinventing global history! Forget 2010 as well. As far as American space exploration is concerned NASA will be reduced to launching a few Sputnik satellites by then and that won't improve until the Chinese have a colony on the moon. Of the old series, I agree with Dave, they all ran their course, TOS, Enterprise et al. Enterprise was a missed opportunity. It could and should have brought back all the raw fascination of TOS and added a zing or two of its own. With a few notable exceptions, particularly in season 4, it didn't. It just felt very tired and unimaginative, so RIP and forget it. The same could be levelled at Voyager and both are a great shame. Just imagine a Voyager series with the drama of New BSG and inventiveness of TOS (ala Doctor Who?) ? So keep fond memories of Trek of old, but let's have something new and different next time and I don't really care for what era they place it. There are other thoughts on this here http://64.46.119.37/forums/showthrea...threadid=12811

Forgive me. But how would an alternate universe be different? We also have to be careful about what we mean by different too. Personally, I have no particular problem with a space ship exploring the galaxy. I just wish it felt less sanitized than what has been the norm for the last 15 years. Many of the Season 4 episodes of Enterprise were actually good, there was more urgency and vitality to them that did not exist in the previous 3 years. If they can at least start from that as a base point then we have a chance
