The Child's plague is spreading throughout the capital, and it's zombie army is on the march. The Doctor and Rose, form an alliance with intergalactic con-man Captain Jack, but find themselves trapped in the abandoned hospital. The answer lies at the bombsite, but time is running out... Again, the solution to the cliffhanger was a little too easy. "Go to your room!" These cliffhangers could begin to get annoying. Well, either annoying or get a cult following! Turns out that Nancy is the mother of the child, Jamie, not his sister. The whole problem is a result of the crash of the Tula batttlefield medical ship. Nano-genes were released which normally repair injuries to return warriors back to the battle. Not having a human blueprint to work on, they repaired the severely injured Jamie as best they could. Then they automatically began repairing everyone else the same way. But when Nancy reveals that she is his 'mummy', for the first time they have a correct blueprint to work from, and everyone is put back to normal. A patient even grows a new leg. So, why did it it produce injuries to one side of the head only, one side of the chest only, and a cut only on one hand? Surely, it is obvious that our bodies are symmetrical. Apart from that, it was a good episode. I'm really enjoying these and so are my children. They rescue Jack at the end of the episode.

I really liked this episode, a lot more than the first part. It was creepy, action-packed, and highly amusing without being overly silly. I have to agree with Dave about the cliffhanger, it was kind of anti-climactic. There again, it was a novel way to get out of the situation, you have to say that. And "I'm glad that worked - those would have been terrible last words!" made me laugh. ![]() Even Jack wasn't annoying me this episode, maybe because he toned down the flirting. I thought that the Doctor switching his sonic blaster for a banana was cute, but all I could think was - "Why has he been carrying a banana around in his pocket?" The revelation that Nancy was actually Jamie's mum caught me by suprise. Mostly because I thought she was about 14, but still, points for not being predictable. ![]() And I do like the fact that there was an explanation (that actually made sense!) to wrap everything up, and set things right. Plus, that scene had the best piece of dialogue of the episode - Woman: My leg's grown back! When I came to the hospital, I only had one! Dr Constantine: Well there is a war on. Is it possible you... miscounted? :laugh2: And finally, we have the dancing, at the end. I don't care if it was pointless, I don't care if they only put it in to fill up space - I absolutely loved it! Especially the Doctor beaming and saying, "Rose, I've just remembered - I can dance!" And is it my imagination, or was there some subtle flirting towards Jack on the Doctor's part? ![]()

"Who looks at a screwdriver and says 'this could be a little more sonic'?" "He saved my life. Bloke-wise that's up there with flossing!" “Well I’ve got a banana, and in a pinch you could put up some shelves.” | |

Re: 27.10: The Doctor Dances I'm being *forced* to re-watch these, my mum got them for the other half for Christmas *happy face* and some items came to my attention; At the end, if the nano-genes recognise Nancy's DNA and make everyone better, why don't they take the Doctor's DNA (when he uploads the software patch) and make everyone Gallifrean? Was Glenn Miller the only person who recorded songs in the 40's? Does nobody on the writing staff deal with timelines and paradoxes, et al? Rose tells Nancy the Brits win, and the Doctor tells the other Doctor "Don't forget the welfare state!"...surely that breaks the usual rules of time travel just a bit? It was good and spooky, and nicely atmospheric apart from that.

Re: 27.10: The Doctor Dances One of the best episodes of the season. The gliches in the nano genes maybe explained by the fact that they would reconise one type of life form and stick with it, otherwise its going to be a looooooonnng battle! They might have recognised the DNA of a mother/child relationship and might be intelegent enough to realise their mistake. They would be programmed not to take info from too many other sources (thats why the chula warship nano's might not have updated the other nano genes). Thats my thoughts anyway, as to Glenn Miller, well it's the one everyone knows.

Re: 27.10: The Doctor Dances I loved both parts of this two part story. It's fun and creepy at the same time. And the lines following the ". .just tell them your a very good Doctor . ." at the end are hilarious. ![]()
