Please tell me you're not serious, black, shiny body, middle 2 pairs of legs shorter than front and rear, red hourglass under abdomen. One of these things bit my aunt and died in agony but it's usually the other way 'round BLACK WIDOW !!!!!!!!!!

Gotta admit, love your insect and arachnid pics, but don't talk to a scot about mosquito bites . We have a local relative, the midge, lets just say there are no official nude beaches in Scotland. Thankfully, the famous scottish rain keeps them away.
Your mantis reminded me of a job I had in Glasgow, 3 hazards

1) Bitten by a tarantula

2) Stung by a scorpion

3) (Most terrifying) falling in the Clyde.
