Re: picture of the day!

LOL. Actually, the times I've been there I've seen many men with stupidly large lenses and tripods. You'd fit right in!

I even saw a kid who can't have been older than 14, and he had a £600 lens and a £1000 Nikon!

And the walkways are certainly wide enough for people to get past the tripod photographers.

Oh, and those feeding stations are brilliant to watch! On my Facebook profile I have a couple of videos of the big cat feedings, which I took last time I was there. It's great to watch the cats leaping and climbing up the poles to get the food. Most zoos have lazy, bored cats.

Re: picture of the day!

most cats are infact lazy
Personally though I think bigcats are best viewed when they have cubs or over a whole day ( they might just dosomething!)

Re: picture of the day!

They had cubs last time I went! One was the Hoopy cub that randomly attacked its parents' legs.

So if I ever go there and see a man with a beard who is sitting on a chair, eating Jaffa Cakes, in front of a tripod and ridiculously lagrge lens, I shall know it's you.

Hear hear! My old cat, when she was a stray, was always active and fast. When I adopted her, she spend all day in front of the fire and only moved to get to the toilet or her food dish.

Re: picture of the day!

But... but if you sit on the walkway, I will have an urge to kick you! I always have that urge when people bend over or sit down near me...

Anyway, I'm surprised you haven't bought one of those photography chairs yet, the ones with the beer/cup holders in them. The hold in the armrest is about the size of a Jaffa Cake... you could keep your "supplies" in it.

Ooh, all this thought of food makes Loopy hungry! I will have to get tea soon - salad in fresh bread buns! Yum.

Re: picture of the day!

Personally I like the second one; the green leaves stand out. But it's hard to spot any differences, really. Great work! The bee looks lovely!

And... I went to the west Lake District today! Anyone want to see piccies? I'd never been to these lakes before.

(I'm warning you, I have a lot of shots )

And hello, Wybren! Hello, OR!

Edit: I think you've spend too long viewing the pictures, OR. It's not that easy to see a difference with each image. I had to look closely (although, yeah, I admit I'm very tired right now).

Re: picture of the day!

Oh, I like that, OR! Brilliant! Perhaps the web could be cloned out - and that's my only critcism. Great work!

Hehe. Well, you asked for it. And this time I'm really going to spam up this thread. {0_o}

Some images are okay, others... meh. But I'll post them anyway, in no particular order.

Butter us up, Loopy-Kit, and we'll say yes.

Yes, we would sink to those Lowes.

And you anticipated my scheme.

Re: picture of the day!

That's a good one of the bee-fly, you can clearly see its single wings, large eyes and small antennae.
