| Direwolf of the chrons | Re: picture of the day! Everything I am doing at the moment is in RAW - I don't think I will go back to JPEG again - the only advantages it gives are a smaller file size and as a result the buffer can hold more in the camera, but action shots (esp of wild things) are unpredictable most times, so I would not ever have time to change out of RAW and into JPEG to get that extra 1 frame -- so its RAW all teh way! |

Blimey! *waves to the dead JPG* Maybe if you get that second camera you could stick to JPGs, since they must (must!) be easier on plain digital cameras (I find them sooo easy). I love JPGs, honestly. Right now I'm not fussed about switching over. Perhaps when I get the E-510 I will make the jump. |

I might have to fiddle with your settings, though. And take a few sample shots... You're going to "forget" to bring the camera, now, aren't you? |

Looks like I could sprain my wrist, lifting it! ![]() ![]() ![]() And... is that a torch cone at the front? You know, one of those silver funny things that fall out when you dismantle a torch... I'm positive I wasn't the only kid to spend their free time dimantling househould objects just to see how they worked... OR, but you will not see the countryside! You're travelling on a night train and then going home the day after. ![]() *sobs quietly* |

| Direwolf of the chrons | Re: picture of the day! went back to get more shots, but was a little later today so missed the light - I need really good light in the woods before I can get decent stuff. So I wandered out and got some of these off a tree in the sunlight! ![]() ![]() ![]() |

| Re: picture of the day! Ah...The Secret Life of Bees. Beautiful pictures! ![]() Here is a good one from BBC site: A pygmy right whale (Caperea marginata) goes under the dissection knife in New Zealand. The smallest of the baleen whales, it is also one of the least understood; it is believed to live throughout the Southern Ocean, mainly consuming krill. This one was found stranded a year ago. |
