Well before we start seeing more pics of the evil cat eating man lets see something smaller (well its smaller than him but definatly much bigger than his mind!) ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() not too much gathered today as I only spent a short time out -- its tricky to relax into photography in the woods when people keep going past - course its a bank holiday - but I did work one thing out on this trip. That tripod is going out now! Not only is it too tall for macro but the bust tilt is driving me mad! |

| www.sjswebdesign.co.uk | Re: picture of the day! I can see no Evil Cat! ![]() ![]() The end two macros are good... but not your best, I have to say. That bad flower needs cloning out or cropping, and the scene has too many places to look at; my eyes are jumping about from flower to flower! (But not literally) Perhaps a closer crop would serve you better here.However... those top two are fantastic! And purple. But.... since you like constructive criticism, the webbing/hair should have been cloned out, and perhaps a bigger depth of field would have made slightly more of an impact by making the whole flower stand out. But that's just my opinion, of course. Feel free to punch me! Glad to see you got out and about. |

| Direwolf of the chrons | Re: picture of the day! meanie you know what I mean ![]() hmm is this a close enough crop? ![]() 100% crop that!Well that has to be the harshest crit I have had all day but its worth it!With the bee it was tricky - to get closer would have meant crushing flowers so at range he had to bee!As for the first I agree a much greater depth of field (not used to using lower appatures as much!) and as for the webbing I am undecided. I think that with a greater depth it would not look so out of place |

| www.sjswebdesign.co.uk | Re: picture of the day! Oh no! I didn't intend that to be harsh, I'm sorry! I was busy rubbing my eyes at the time, so I was a little distracted (hayfever, grrrr!), so I didn't check my post that well. I just wrote what I meant to say. ![]() I knew I should have PMed you the crit instead, but I didn't want to PM... Glad you didn't crush the flowers, though! Bluebells are uncrushable! Anyway, aren't these your first macros, or near your first? I'd say they're a very, very good start! And from there you can only improve! And even I suck at them... |

| www.sjswebdesign.co.uk | Re: picture of the day! Oops... Well, I thought I'd sound repetitive if I always complimented you, so instead I gave you my criticism! Perhaps Loopy should have kept her mouth shut! ![]() As I said, though, they're just my opinions. And I'm a fussy bee. I must be if I'm the only one giving you criticism. Oh, and I forgot to say, I like the 100% crop. That image is LARGE! Was it a RAW? |
