Donaldson title?

Help, please -

I'm looking for the title of a short story, which I think is by Stephen Donaldson, about a giant centipede. It's the final straw in a relationship breakup, and
I have no idea why I suddenly thought of it this morning, but I desperately want to track it down to reread it now - I have to find out if it's still as scary when I know the end!

Re: Donaldson title?

It's not called 'mythological beast' is it? I've not read it, but I came across a list of his short stories at the following webpage. Hope it's useful. http://www.fantasticfiction.co.uk/au..._Donaldson.htm

Thanks for the link, Mark - wrong title but I did find it on this site.
"The Conqueror Worm" - I recommend it

Oh, yes. I remember that story; I've got the Donaldson collection of short stories that it is in. Can't remember the name of the collection though, and I think it's packed away at the moment, so I can't check (darn lack of shelf space ). It is the strange little story, isn't it?
