Spoiler

Apparently the team comes across an aged woman in stasis. The most intriguing part to me is that fact that it's Dr. Wier. So at some point the guys come across some kind of time machine and it's Wier who takes the plunge. Automatically I was reminded of Star Treks "Times Arrow"...but I firmly believe this will be a good episode...or even Enterprise for that matter...I guess every series has to throw a couple of those story lines in the mix...it's the good writers that make it seem fresh.

What would be really good would be to not find out. Maybe she is put in stasis 5 years in the future? She would then always be wondering about how, why and when it happens.

Much more likely it will happen shortly before the end of this episode and everything is reset for next week.

well close

I like AU stories, but i wouldn't say best episode yet. Did we know the Ancients escaped to Earth? Is that just something i'd forgotten?

The Sheppard/McKay bickering was fun, especially the 'we wouldn't want to give up the chance to talk to a living ancient. again'

Dam I really like Atlantis,

Another good episode but one that ties in a lot about when the show first started and links in with SG1 Series 8 (time machine etc)

Kinda gives it more credability to how they survived those first few days in Atlantis.

Class!!

The Time Travel element of this was handled well. I had no need to worry about any reset button because she was actually in stasis and from an alternative reality, not from the future.

In fact, blocking all incomming Gate addresses other than Earth, and adjusting the failsafe so that Atlantis rose to the surface as soon as they arrived, conveniently lays to rest any nitpicking anyone would care to expose over those areas of the plot. Very cleverly done indeed.

And John's quips "Not forgetting a really nice Delorean" & "Flux Capacitor!"

I don't think we did, but 'Atlantis' seems to keep indicating that we are some kind of feral-Ancient. Janus put it more nicely here as a "second evolution."

Just because they evacuated to Earth 10,000 years ago, doesn't mean that they stayed though, and Janus did say he was going to continue the Time Machine experiments.

As for the real Earthers, we now have a real chance to get hold of a fully charged ZPM (which I now know stands for 'Zero Point Module') and they also have a Stasis tube to take apart and put back together.

Thumbs up

This was a good episode, all the thing about Weir and the time machine, the story of her encounter with the ancients etc was very interesting. I have to agree with the bickering between Mckay and Sheppard, that was funny.
