Elfquest anyone?

Maybe I missed it but it seems that no one has taken the time to discuss Wendy and Richard Pini's stunningly beautiful work of art!
I have been a fan of Elfquest since I discovered the graphic version of The Quest Begins in an art supply store.
What art! What characters! What storylines!

Thumbs up

I've loved the books since Marvel printed them in comic book format under their Epic imprint. I adore Skywise.

Re: Elfquest anyone?

I've seen the graphic novel when browsing (a passing glance, mind you) during a recent trip to a comic shop. It somewhat stood out from the rest of the usual crowd (to me at least), perhaps because of the name and cover maybe? anyway, I'm was just wondering whats it about?, is it any good?

Re: Elfquest anyone?

I knew of Elfquest back when I was working in a comic book store. It was impossible for me to keep up on any one thing back then. But I always liked the art work.

Re: Elfquest anyone?

I have only read the first 3, which is what my library has. I think I would have liked them more if I read them when I was younger. But I can definitely see how they are classics!

Hello Duplica123

There is a hard bound version of the first few Elfquest volumes in one of the shops here, I'd been eyeing it for some time now. Can't quite put my finger on it...but there is something about the cartoonish depiction of elves/elfs (I liked fergully? way back when I was a kid) that I've always related strongly with fantasy even if it is clichéd. This thing costs a bucketload (perhaps because of the postage and handling, not sure), but cannot put the thing out of my mind...I'll probably end up buying it anyway in the end. I'm just thinking whether it's worth the investment.

Cheers, DeepThought
