Ah, yes. A harken back to the first two years of SG-1 in this episode. The SGA team finds a primitive civvilation who's way of life perplexes them. But it worked for me. While not the best episode of Atlantis, it's certainly not the worst (which IMO was 38 Minutes). Pretty well-written and well-acted, especially with McKay and his interaction with kids. Plus, the food referances continue. I love how McKay speaks of food and/or eats it every episode, lovely little quirk that Corin Nemic got shut down trying to do in season six.

It was pretty good I thought. I liked the part where McKay was hollering at the little kids and the boy got mad at him and started trying to punch him and McKay said, "Oh you wanna go? Lets go!" and acted like he was gonna start fighting ther little kid for real.

According to IMDb, yes, it was the same actor: Courtenay J. Stevens... but (and I've not seen it) playing a different character...

Lt. Elliot

Same actor, different show. Bear in mind that Garwin Sanford made a brief appearance in the Atlantis premiere -- but not, of course as Narim.

Nothing wrong with recycling actors. Means full employment in the Vancouver area. :rolly2:

Narim was in Atlantis??? Completely missed that. Egads. Saw Pallin, but missed Narim. The odds of that are miniscule.

Must re-watch Rising now.

Don't know....something just told me that Elliot didn't like SG-17 and faked the whole thing......(the death thing).

Personally I find it distracting, and heck, there are plenty of talented actors in the BC area looking for a role!!

Sheppard and his team crash land their puddle jumper on a planet protected by a strong electromagnetic field. However, Keras and the other young inhabitants of the planet (none of whom are older than 25), believe that their voluntary suicides on their 25th birthdays protect their world from the dreaded Wraith. Whether or not Sheppard will be able to convince them otherwise remains to be seen...

Thumbs up

I really like this episode, it sure was a kind of Logan's Run type of episode. But it was entertaining and well presented. I agree with Mckay and the little kids but finally they make peace and they help Mckay.
Ford definitely was having fun with Mckay reactions.

Didn't notice that was Lt. Elliot? But since he died in Stargate SG1, is good to see him again. As for the old actors with new actors. I really enjoy both, is great to see "Narim" in Atlantis. And I really would love to see many others. I'm dissapointed that I can't see some goauld's in this corner of the universe. But that's another rant.
Is a great way to bring dead characters what about bringing JR Bourne.

It was a very entertaining episode with again lot of great humor.

Hmm mixed feelings,

That is the 3rd re-roled SG1 actor we have seen in Atlantis, but hey it is possible we all have body doubels in another galaxy :alienooh: :rolly2:

A bit 100 days and a little peterpan, Shepard being a little too much "we dont want to hurt you" a stroppy teenager but at least Mackay was on form.

I like Talia but why have they made her use Earth weaponry, just doesnt fit.

Dr wierdo Wier has now truly got up my nose, so sick of her "taking the moral highground" She aint no Jack O neil so why bother to try she is too condecending and needs kidnapping by the wraith or at least a boyfriend (how about the long heard spectacled geek from the US)

:dead:

We can't really complain about actors appearing Atlantis after Stargate, after all Star Trek did it all the time..

Mixed feelings too, enjoyed ep but again a bit predictable shield protecting inhabitants...scientist switches off machine.....threat from wraith.

Apart from that not too bad at least I sat through it.

I have to agree with all of that... Logans Run, annoying Dr Weir, predictable shield that won't come back on, the cute children...

Personally, I think it was worse than '38 minutes'

I don't know, they left the planet unprotected, how else was Weir supposed to react?

BTW: How come Ford and McKay were carrying chocolate? Not that i'm complaining I just didn't realise it was an essential!
