To quote The Last Samurai..."Too many mind" 3 egg-heads and a Jaffa....I don't think so. I will fully support Jonas on Atlantis though, especially since that show has a better chance on coming back next season....

I very much enjoyed the interaction between Daniel and Jonas on the S7 eps where they appeared together, but I can't see the writers wrapping themselves around that combination of an SG team. I would like to see Jonas show up more -- sort of dropping by the way the Tok'ra do (or rather, did). For S8 I'd like to see a number of loose ends tidied up: What has Nyan been doing all this time? What about Shifu? Where do the harsesis go to high school? Speaking of high school, we've got a young Jack O'Neil out there and poor little Cassandra is motherless again. A love interest possibility? And is Orlin happy amongst the Ancients or does he get in trouble again for 'interfering' ?

I think the way the last few seasons have been written, both Danial and Jonas have become accomplished soldiers, though both are scientists first and foremost. I dunno. I think it could work over time if people gave it a chance. Another thought I had was Maybourne? He could always return and join up. Hmm dunno about that either. Well they have to find a fourth though imo. Things just are not the same with a 3 person team!

Scary thought . . Maybe the three person team is a set up to having the recent defector join the SG1 team. Wouldn't be too bad for an episode or two, but if it's the rest of the season that would probably stink.

So true and also quite appropriate Shelby!! That has to be one of my favorite Jack quotes, aside from his lovely comments to Maybourne in '48 Hours' Seems Maybourne brings out the best in Jack. Or the worst. Kat | |

Maybourne............yea that would happen. OK if not Jonas, how about Rak'nor or Technician Walter? One of them would fit into SG-1 much better than Jonas. No wait, Burke from "Evolution2". Teal'c would have a field-day. I can just see it now. Carter: Daniel, have you seen Burke? Daniel: Yea, he was with Teal'c! (Enter Teal'c with an extra P90+gear) Carter: Teal'c, did you kill Burke!? Teal'c: Indeed!

I don't know how many of you guys are really privy to the show, but i just watched every episode straight (don't ask). With SG1 being a 3 person team, it doesn't seem right, as some of you have mentioned earlier. Jonas Quinn would seem the best fit IMO not just because he has been on before, but because it wouldn't be such a shock to the audience as well. He isn't just an egg-head as someone else suggested earlier. He doesn't just sit and think, he has done action scenes as well as diplomatic scenarios. Also,he has some kind of genetic difference between him and other humans since his branch of humanity was isolated for so long - analogous to a kind of an austrailian evolution thing i guess, he has this memory capacity that proved very useful during their season 6 missions, can manage weapons as well as teal'c or sam, and had interesting quirks that helped the character stand out (ex. his obsession with the weather channel). He also brought naqadria to the table and we have yet to see themes of current episodes return to this element (not to mention the tok'ra). If he joined, we wouldn't have to wait through a bunch of episodes for the character to get assimilated into the SGC collective, Jonas already has a place there. If he doesn't join SG1, he should at least show up more, IMO. Sam = military leader + scientist Teal'c = warrior and priceless experience with goa'uld technology Daniel = Anthrop-Archae-ologist and recurring voice or reason Jonas = already good at playing the new guy as the previously mentioned attributes above. while these all may seem like weak arguements to bring him back, i would hate to see them bring in some other character that just seemed like a recycled jack o'neill. we already have a jack, lets bring back someone we already like. i don't know the first thing about tv shows or script writing so i don't know how feasable it is, or if corin nemec is even interested. i guess we'll find out

Some people think that Jonas and Daniel alike ("nerdish" with combat exp), I don't see it. Daniel is more reserved, where as Jonas is more of the "lets jump in" type. Plus Jonas's translating skills suck, while Daniel is not to good with science stuff (naqadria, giant drilling machines, and so on....). They did both have the hots for Goa'uld girls, but thats not realy a plus. When they go to Season9 (Jack retires to Edora to live FOREVER with Laira) Jonas should be the fourth in SG-1. He fits and (unlike some "new guy") the part is already written, so there you go.
