![]() I was looking at the regular cast listing on a few websites and Col Summer isn't there. Shame really, he was one of the expedition that i thought might grow on me sooner than many of the others not to mention the fact that i feel a character in that role/style is necessary but there we go. It's gonna take some time to get used to it although i have high hopes. I've said it before and i'll say it again, are we ever going to meet the ferlings/furlings?? whatever way you want to spell it, besides the Ancient's aren't going to be coming round and asking for some sugar now are they, not in the way that some of us thought at least. ![]() Nick, ![]() | |

| Im sure I saw previous characters playing new roles from SG1 in this first episode. Such as Dr Wiers husband is the Tollan from previous SG1 episodes. Im attached a screeny. It is a bit naff if the writers think we will not recognise past actors from the SG1 storyline and start putting them all back in Atlantis. Am I right or just seeing things?? Ranger |

| I thought the second part was even better. The Puddle Jumper is a great little ship, and I see why Col. Sumner is no longer with us now. I also liked how they knew that making enemies of the Wraith was a bad idea, Weir comparing it to First Contact with the Goa'uld, and yet it had to be the right thing to do anyway. I liked the 'Turkey Sandwich' quip from Major Shepherd -- he is obviously the new 'Jack' -- but seriously, how do they feed all those people? It looks like Atlantis is situated on a Waterworld. |

| I too now know, why Sumber wasn't in any of the cast sections on the websites i went to. Ha, he's decided to go into permanent retirement shall we say. I really liked this episode, i appreciated the characters a lot more now, Tayla, Sheppard, McKay, Ford and so on, however i still can't seem to like Weir, just not happening, the fact she's a diplomat and her little "critique" of the SGC might've had something to do with that; still only two episodes in mind you. I liked the gateship one and puddle jumper exchange , that was good, there was some good one liners and stuff i thought today. These Wraith, well you wouldn't wannt to invite them round to your BBQ, you might end up on the menu. Some similar traits to the Goa'uld though, more in style than method at times, you know the interrogation of Colonel Sumner, that bit.Well it's safe to say that the Wraith are not a nice piece of work and if they made a visit to the base it might be a bit of a problem with current defences. So what do you think, some exploration of the planet maybe next week, Tayla will probably be on Major Sheppards "Sg-1". I don't watch huge amounts of telly each week but with this and Spooks, my long term entertainment through the box is secured, oh and not forgetting good ol Sg1 either ![]() later Nick, ![]() |

| BEWARE SPOILERS BELOW I've just seen the opening two parter which I enjoyed - better than Stargate TOS 'Lockdown' which preceded it actually. I don't feel I've got to know the principal characters very well yet. Obviously the entertaining MacKay was already well known and Major Sheppard was very much front and centre. I find his his genetic ability to work Ancients' things an interesting idea. He also seems to have an attractively irreverent attitude, and he's an optimist - ref. the turkey sandwich! :lol:I quite like Tailor, but Dr. Weir seems less convicing that the blonde version. Atlantis itself is good - loved the CG rise from the ocean. Very cool. I'm not entirely convinved by the wraith - neither particularly scary nor terribly original, and their scripts had a lot of bog-standard bad guy lines. Let's face it, the goa'uld System Lords have a much better sense of style too, especially Baal. But the wraith's ships are more stylish. And why didn't the Earth guys run off with some of the wraith's weapons? Haven't they ever played D&D? Let's face it, looting your enemy's stuff isn't going to make you any less popular that you already are, and those weapons could prove useful in a number of ways. I'm also thinking that the wraith's days are numbered anyway. The red-haired wraith gave the impression that they were short of food, then later said that, when she died, thousands of others would awken... Wonder if they're cannibals? Bearing in mind, TPTB's tendency to homage things right left and centre, I was half-expecting the red-haired one to explode into dust when Sheppard stabbed her! Not sure whether it was a disappointment or a relief when she didn't! Anyway, I'm looking forward to the next one. Best wishes, Hatshepsut  -- |

| Yeah i liked the episodes too. For a while there, i thought they would actually have to abandon Atlantis and try to find a power source! But i could agree with Dr Weir's sentiment about leaving. Liked the characters, especially Sheppard and Ford. Thought that McKay was better in SG1 but hopefully he'll improve. Quote:
