| wormhole travel travel through the stargate can only be one way, then why can messages (video image, radio signals) travel in both directions at the same time? my friend explained that when someone (matter) travels in the "wormhole" the person is changed into energy (or something like that - she was more detailed). then isn't that the same as the radio signals(energy)? please feel free to be detailed and technical as possible. i won't understand, but my friend will. i'm sorry if i haven't explained it clearly. |

| Explination. I believe this is what's known in the highlu technical parlance of today's science as a 'continuity glitch'. Read: if the writer's stuck by that, they'd write themselves into a corner in nothing flat with no way for the team to communicate with home at all. This is why they call it 'science fiction'. | Actually, when a human or object goes through the event horizon, the matter has to forcibly be changed to energy, and wont transmit until the whole mass has entered. So when energy goes through the event horizon, the gate never has to compensate for it, since it ,well, already energy. Thats why the radio/audio/video waves can travel both ways. |
