| Comparing DVDs If you have a multiregion player it's sometimes hard to know what version to get. This site allows you to compare differences/cut scenes etc. Very handy methinks http://www.dvdcompare.net/ |

| Brian G. Turner | Re: Comparing DVDs Good call. ![]() I know sometimes the studios really insult the fans in a good release for one region, and absolute pap for another. Life of Brian by Monty Python is a good example - region 1 has a lot of extras, but region 2 simply has the film plus trailer. Setting up your DVD player to play discs from different regions often includes nothing more complex than pressing a few buttons and numbers on your remote control. |

| Re: Comparing DVDs Things are much better than they used to be. I had to attack my first DVD player (a first generation Pioneer DVL 909 which set me back £900) with a soldering iron to make it multi-region. And then you had to go through a convoluted sequence of button stabbing on the remote. Nowadays there is a great choice. Toshiba do a wonderful little player for about £100 that is multi-region straight out of the box. |

| Re: Comparing DVDs I know I always look at what each Region offers in the way of features sometimes reg 3 have more extras. My first dvd player which is a Sony had to be dealt with by a speacialist as im no good at chipping it myself cost me enough to do but once it was done I dont have to press any buttons at all my second one is a cheaper one from Amazon which works just as well |
