| Re: The Doctor (Christopher Eccleston) Oh good. Then Billie Piper is not your type? I'm surprised Eccleston never gave her a slap up the earhole. She needed one. She needed one more in Tennant's series. |

| Re: The Doctor (Christopher Eccleston) Heck no I cant stand Billie Piper! Not as Rose anyway. I was telling someone that just the other day. Why doesnt Tennant's Doctor put her in her place? At least Eccleston was strict with her at least once. Oh the girl in the episode, I found out she has acted in other things. I thoguht they just brought in extras with no work experience for that one. |

I agree with lordoftime, the reason Rose was a tolerable, even good character was because Eccy-doc didn't take any of her whining. She respected that. Tennant's Doc, being a bit more like an over-excited adolescent at time sort of let her go nuts. The best Tennant ep with a lady was definitely 'The girl in the fireplace' with real-life girlfriend Sophia Myles. Eccleston was less interested in getting off with the female characters, I still love the bit in the first ep where Jackie is trying to seduce him... Jackie: 'There's a strange man in my bedroom' Eccy-doc: 'Yes there is.' Jackie: 'Anything could happen...' Eccy-doc: 'No'

Love your knew icon. You'd be a great pirate of the spaceways! Quote:
Jackie was a bit of a slapper when the series started! She became more of a mother hen as it went on, except for the episode with that Asorbolov monster where she thought she might get lucky... I love that episode even if it was a bit of a holiday for the usual cast.

| Re: The Doctor (Christopher Eccleston) [quote=Loner;758450]Absolutely. And don't worry Giggs, you know I love you best. Love your knew icon. You'd be a great pirate of the spaceways!quote] Thanks You can't take the sky from me!When I was reading your post, Loner, I flashed back to the ep where Rose tries to save her father from being hit by the car. Jackie was a pretty nasty piece of work in that ep, but she was pretty broken up in the end. I think Eccleston did a particularly good job in that ep for me. He was the voice of reason. While he indulged Rose's desire to see her dad, he was so firm in the belief that humans had to move on from their grief. Which is a particularly difficult thing when you've had your entire species wiped out in a war as he had. I really felt the Doctor's loneliness and even fear. |
