No way it would last anywhere near what the classic did. Plus once RTD bows out, or Tennant leaves, that could very well be the end right there.

Well I think people got a bit of a scare of that sort when they heard Eccleston was leaving.

I think it could survive post-Tennant but if RTD leaves it could lose momentum and dissolve into nothingness.

Then it would descend to what happened with the McCoy stories, which were hit and miss and they took the essence of the Doctor's character and turned him into some kind of dark god. As well as some of his stories being camp.

Yeh they messed with the character of the Doctor, what had worked for 20 plus years across six incarnations... they were trying to berng the mystery back but they went in the wrong direction.

LOL! yes he was more traditonal, despite the outfit. He and Tennant actually are traditional in thier portrayals.

Im still waiting to see the rest of his first season. Im a bit behind as I dont have cable and get a friend to record them for me. Supposed to get the tape from her tonight but she had to go out of town. *whimpers*

I wonder what it would be like to see Tennant first and Eccleston second?

I have a brother who can supply the Tennant's second season before it is shown on TV here, but I think I will just wait.

No no I meant Tennant. I saw all of Eccleston but only because I went and boguht the DVD set-for way too much money if I may admit-but you are right. It would be interesting what would have happened had Tenant come first. But you know he didnt want to go first! He said he didnt want the burden being on him if the revival failed. It would have been too much for him as he had wanted to be the Doctor since his days watching Tom and Peter on the telly.

I don't think it would have gone as well if Tennant had gone first. He had a little more exposure in the mean time with Casanova (pardon the pun).

Eccleston was a little more even-handed in his performances and so probably alienated less viewers than Tennant would have if he had been the first Doctor. He takes a little getting used to!

I thought Tennant would be easier to understand than Eccleston but I got so used to the northern accent that when I watch Tennant I cannot always follow what he is saying.

Yes, and did you know that some kids didnt know he was even Scottish till he did those audios based on the hardback novels about his Doctor?

have to say here that in School Reunion he went too far into camp saying physics!

I didn't know until the werewolf episode where they made a bit too much fuss over his "fake" Scots accent. I thought "Hang on..." how is that funny? And then I realised it must be his real accent.

I don't remember that bit of School Reunion - did he pucker too much?

It was at the start right after the opening credits. He was talking to his class and kept saying the word, at one point in strange voice, then said they should be writing this all down!
