There have to be SOME MacSlows out there writing something!

I *know* I'm not the only one - esp since I just talked to Dia last night and know she's working on something ---

Anyone have a plot bunny they're just needing to foist off on someone else?

Or - have a plot bunny that you're trying to write out of your system?

*opens mouth closes mouth and cringes* Umm opps. Ok, ok anyone feel free to throw things at me. I haven't been to ascifi for.....ages. not even lurking. I'm evil and bad and should be flogged. Bad, bad, bad me!

*sigh* And no the topic of this thread? I'm so slow i's not even funny. And it didn't help that my computer got whipped out so I didn't do anything but cry for a week then months and months of not even being able to look at a Word pad let alone write. I only started working on a few fics a few months ago.

And can I repeat I should be flogged?

Well, I've finished another fic - it's a part 2 to a part 1 I wrote back in Dec; plus I've begun a part 3 to it --- it's moving right along...

I dragged out 2 fics that I started back in - get this - 2002 - and had the weirdest urge to work with them a bit - one's finished, just needs typing, the other is an interesting AU idea that I had that I need to find my notes for and finish fleshing out...

Now - Dru, on that 'not have a PC' thing -- no excuse - pen and paper are readily available everywhere -- writing by hand is not a bad thing... it's very tactile and sometimes can help you work out those blocks... so - bad you - no tea and cookies for Miss Edith!

It wasn't not having a computer it was I was too miserable about all my fics being deleted. Some that were no where on line so they're gone forever. Though I did copy one off my message board where I posted it and have been working on it again and I have a few other that I started when I made the mistake of playing with a plot bunny machine

And I can't write by hand. I just write too freaking slow that it's a pain. I get like three paragraphs in the time I could type a few pages!

moral of story: store all fics on a disk -- or upload to a webserver - your own or a friends (btw - I have lots o' space if you need a small corner) ---

but yeah--- I store almost NOTHING on my PC - 1) I don't have enough memory to run the darned thing, much less have any additional things on it; 2) lost stuff before - and I'm horribly paranoid that I'll lose things - so I always have a disk back-up and usually a back-up for that.

badness on the PC -- ugh - that's gotta suck... kinda why I write by hand - if I lose something, I have the hand-written version and can just type it again. I type faster than I write, but I think faster than I do either - so, I usually have to make notes and write from there ----

but - seriously - if you need a bit of space to store some fics - I have plenty ----

Now I'm just being obcessive about updateing where I have things up on the net so I can always copy if it gets lost.

It's the best I guess to just do that so if worst comes to worst and everything get's delated again I can always get it back if I keep the stuff online really curent.

Okay, I'm joining this thread a little bit late, seeing as how it's almost the end of March, but I finally started writing again after months of writing nothing. I have a Dead Zone fic that I started writing ages ago that I want to finish and I also have an idea for a challenge that was posted on the Highlander Holyground Forum. I haven't written anything yet, but I have the idea in my head and I don't think it's going to leave me alone until I write it.

And on a completely different subject, does anyone happen to know where I can find some good Angel fan fic? I have recently, as in a few weeks ago, become obsessed with this show. I've bought the first two season on DVD and have been wanting to read some fic.

Depends on what kind of fic you're looking for...

I have one AtS fic on my site: Mistletoe, Spongebob and *Thud* - totally fluff / corny / cheese / humorous - but fun... *g*

Pointy Stakes - this is Mad Poetess' site - she mostly writes S/X and various other slash-y pairings, but she has some AtS stuff - check the story index...

BtVS Writer's Guild - this is probably one of the best places to locate fic indeces... grab a genre, a pairing, etc... they have a zone for it and it will lead you to other places on the net for even more fic...

That should get you started...

Actually, what I'd really liketo read some is some fic focusing on Lorne, if I can find it. I like the whole show, but he is definitely my favorite character. When I bought the dvds, instead of doing the sensible thing and starting from the beginning, I started watching the second season first, just so I could see the episodes he's in.

Thanks for the links, H2. I'll be sure to check them out.

*drums fingers on desk* Lorne fic -- hmm -

I'll have to poke about a bit and let you know --

I'm a Spike fan, so generally seek out his stuff, but the Writer's Guild I linked might have some Lorne stuff -

if not - lemme poke around and see what I can come up with...

oooh - fic hunting!!

Okay - found some stuff:

at azygous there is one about Lorne: Young, Gifted and Green

**when you go to this site - maximize your window, or you can't nav it -

This is Caritas fanfic -- not sure what all they have - just found them today...

This site has lots of links for Angel-related stuff - not sure if it leads to any Lorne fic... but, you might find something...

Wow, thanks H2. Apparently you were more successful in finding Lorne fic than I was. I looked for it, but really didn't find much. The only bad thing about all these fic links is that my break is almost over and then I have to get to work. I hate when that happens.

Google is your friend -

search: 'fanfic' or 'fanfiction'

then, once that comes up, scroll all the way to the bottom and click on 'search within these results' -

another search box appears, and search: 'Lorne' -

you'll get lists of lots of stuff that he's mentioned in, even if he's not the major focus of the fic --

sometimes this works - sometimes not --

I'll poke around some other places and see what I can find...

Otherwise -- you might just have to write your own...

Well, actually, I had thought about writing a fic myself. Then I realized that there are two problems with this. One, I have no idea for a plot and two, I've only seen about a half a dozen episodes so far. I could try, but the characters might not bear any resemblance to those on the show at all. Maybe after I see more of the show I'll give it a shot. And I did find some Lorne fic at some of those link you gave and the ones Google gave me. Not a lot, but some. This will have to do until I can write my own.

Yeah - I mean - there are a lot of ppl who like The Host / Lorne - but, not so many who write fic about him. Don't know why - he's fun.

So - keep poking around - you might find some lost archive of Lorne fic....

Oh - check yahoogroups too - there might be a group or two devoted to Lorne or Andy Hallett...
