Dolly,

Looks like nothing much is up with Ausgate.
It moves at about the speed of the rocks on Cheyenne Mountain,
quits for no apparent reason and wanders off into never never land at a moments notice.

Apparently no one is aware of the problem - or no one cares

Bernie

I got a report that they tried restarting it and it didn't work. They are trying to find the problem though.

According to Dan,

Due to other sites running on the same server and downloads going on its causing Ausgate some major slowness which they are hopefully working on fixing.

I was told there is only so much bandwidth.

I've asked Dan when he gets the time to post something somewhere on this to better inform us as to what is going on.

Sorry for the bad news

Thanks for posting the problem. I do hope it can be sorted out soon. Miss my gate family when I can't be there. :crying:

Update From: AusGate Sent: 3/12/2004 3:29 AM

According to Dan, the power supply on the server is just about dead. He is trying to get it replaced as soon as possible.

Apart from the power supply, Elaine is right... We currently have 3 major database projects on the same server (Ausgate being one), but one other is our first release of our project for the Canadian Curling Association and the database is being flogged a little while we try and upload the 5000 member files.

Thanks for the update, Allan. Appreciate a little knowledge of what is going on.

Dolly - some people have no choice except to go away from Ausgate for a while. I know that sounds impossible to you. :rolly2:

Chalk it up to "alien behavior" :aliengray

Ah - Kendoll - not all of us have had Ausgate spliced straight into our cerebral cortex....

[though in some cases not for want of trying ]
