Rowling starts work on 6

Quote:
from SCI FI Wire

Rowling Works On Potter VI

J.K. Rowling has started work on a sixth Harry Potter book, Rowling's agent, Christopher Little, told the Reuters news service. Little added that Rowling's best-selling Potter books set a new record, with the first five titles having sold a quarter of a billion volumes in more than 200 countries.

"J.K. Rowling has begun work on the sixth book about the boy wizard," Little told the news service. "As yet no date is fixed for its release." He added, "We look forward to introducing Harry Potter to yet more readers in the furthest parts of the globe."
I think he is merely talking about book sales, rather than the plot, but the way Sci Fi Wire have written that sounds like it is more.

After seeing the World Quidditch Games, we know that there are Wizards all over the world. It would be interesting to see some of them. Harry is a little young for a Gap Year, but what about a school trip?

She is slacking on this one though. I really dont think she should have told people how many so we dont have to wait like a cliffhanger. Plus is she wanted to stop after this next one she could and have a Epolog(SP?) for the rest of Harrys life.

She has always said that she would write 7 books and then stop. She knows the story to 6 and 7 but just has to write them. She even knows what the very final line of 7 will be.

If I was her I would want to write something different after that. As a writer I would want to be known for more than simply 'Harry Potter' alone. However, I always wonder when people say 'never again'.

How can you be so certain that you won't? Circumstances change, and not just financial ones (though in her case that is probably not a consideration.)

She is slacking on this one, but considering she got married and had a child I think she can be excused.
