Re: Book Deal

It's nice to see that the much-maligned world of Literary Agents is given public support.

And best of luck with it, Mark - when you have leisure time - or need to relax/procrastinate - then I'm sure it'll be great to see you here.

I'm sure you'll see me in here fairly regularly Brian. It's a good site with a good bunch of contributers. I must have a chat with you about websites sometime and how to get the traffic to increase on my own site. This whole internet business remains a mystery to me.

Thanks for your good wishes. Have already done a couple of hours on the re-write today, but have lots more work planned.

Re: Book Deal

Mark, it looks like you have some built in readers here. We'll have to search out the previously published ones and anxiously await what is to come in '06. I'll read them even if there isn't a dragon on the cover (but seriously, dragons are cute aren't they? They make perfect cover material ).

I hope some of you will read The Darkweaver Legacy. I'm told they're really quite good. Modesty prevents me from saying any more than that, but the feedback and reviews have been consistently good. Maybe if one of you reads and enjoys them, you might like to review them here somewhere. Just a thought. If you want to try them, just follow the link in my signature and go to the order page on the swordpublishing website. You can either order direct from me by downloading the form and mailing it, or you can get it through amazon UK by using the links there.

As for a dragon on the cover - it's on the way dwndrgn, it's on the way!

Re: Book Deal

Actually, it might be worth setting up a series of reviews here for when you're about to have your first book launch - set up publicity for when you really need it the most. Just a thought.

Re: Book Deal

Final details of the deal were set in place last Monday. Unsolicited email from Warner Bros film scout received by agent on Wednesday. Further unsolicited email, this time from Universal on Thursday. Seems like the film people like the sound of my new title.

Absolutely spectacular Mark! Reading all this has given me at least a good feeling about finishing the book I'm working on. And I promise, I'm planning on ordering all of your books because I've been very impressed with what I've read of yours on here so far.

Great news mate. When I have a gap in my reading I will be sure to pick up a copy of your novel.

Re: Book Deal

Hello Mark

I am rather new to all this type of talk and was wondering if I have the right understanding here. If I follow correctly you were originally made an offer for a two book deal with an option for a third and that offer was then doubled?

Also, how much do numbers change with the type of Genre your writing as well as the degree to which the publishers like your work.

Thanks Bob

Big Congratulations, Mark!

And thanks for your willingness to share the process you went through to get to this point. It's very helpful and incredibly inspiring to the rest of us!
