This ran again last night - and I was thinking about something - but I think it's a spoiler for a later episode, so I won't mention it -- Ummm -- Oh - the scene in the graveyard is funny - Angel goes to smash the amulet and hits himself in the head and Spike says, "Uh, I think you missed." I noticed something else - and this is about DB - the lines in his face are gettin' deeper - around his mouth - it just looked odd - now I have to watch the other episodes and see if it looks the same. The man needs to have more reasons to smile - Angel and Spike, both, really - they're so morose lately - it's depressing. Let them have some shiny happy stuff going on...

i've seen the ep three times now. and from the point Spike appears in Angel's bedroom, to when Angel is back at WH explaining how they set up the necromancer, there are some odd discrepancies, but i'm not really able to sort them out well. ultimately, it doesn't matter. but it bugged me a little, plus, it's ages til Jan. 14, when the next episode is to be aired.

I've watched it a couple times - are they discrepancies, or just places where the writers left something out of the story and kinda never filled it in at the end? B/c, I will say, this is one of those eps that is really amazing the first time you see it, but if you watch it again and again - things kinda start to fall apart - so, I see where you're going...

Ok I'll confess I've never really been an Angel fan. Loved Buffy but after watching the first season of Angel I lost interest, just didnt grab me in the same way. But then I saw the ads that spike was going to be in it and thought "well I'll give it a watch". Now I know what I missed about Angel in the past, the funny stuff! Angel and Spikes verbal sparring had me rolling on the couch! And some good old fashioned demon bashing thrown in to! Add in harmony and all in all I loved it. I think this ep was a bit of a swing away from the darker angel stuff of the past, which some true fans may not like, but it worked on drawing me in and probably other previously buffy only fans too. Guess they will probably bring in the darker stuff and have a whole new fan base hooked, clever writing if thats what they are aiming for.

This episode was just fun. The story-line with the necromancer guy was a little weak, I thought, but that faded into the background anyway compared to Spike and Angel's sparring. I was quite apprehensive about Spike for the first 15mins - as soon as he found out he was a ghost (very funny, btw ), he just seemed to go all sulky and wimpy. But soon enough, he was back to the cocky, sarky Spike we all know and love. ![]() Also loved the interaction between Spike and Fred. Spike: Think I'm hot, do you? Fred: Mm...lukewarm. I always thought Spike liked Willow more than he let on, so maybe Fred is a Willow-substitute? And they are going to find a way to make Spike corporeal again, right? I mean, ghost-Spike 'haunting' Angel is funny, but it could get old after a while. Some great quotes: Wes: Do you have any memory of a strange sensation when it released its energy? Spike: What? You mean my skin and muscle burning away from the bone? Organs exploding in my chest? Eyeballs melting in their sockets? No. No memory at all. Thanks for asking. Spike: Knew you'd pick the Viper. Angel: We're... I'm from Wolfram & Hart. Spike: I'm his date. Angel picks up the urn to smash the amulet, and hits himself on the head with it. Spike: Uh, I think you missed. Angel: That was you hitting me? Spike: The last bit, yeah. Hainsley's been dead since he hit the table. Oh, come on. Had to get a few licks in, didn't I? Spike: I know what's down there... where it's trying to take me... and it's not the place heroes go. Not by a bloody long shot. It's the other one. Full of fire and torment. And it's happening. And I'm terrified. Help me?
