Angel and company's first day as full-blown 'employees' at the LA branch of W&H...

Fred's lost, Wes is wary; Gunn's interested, and Angel just wants to fight evil and help the helpless - but he's having a rough go of it.

Oh - and Angel's got mail.

First impression time...

Excellent start to the episode -- felt like the 'old' Angel again. It was nice. Until it felt like the Initiative - with those black-clad guys all bumbling in.

Of course, the gang discovers that to 'save the world' they have to keep their clients - evil clients most of them too.

First up is a problem - he's evil, he's nasty, and he's threatening the fate of LA already... And his lawyer is either green or not very good.

Remember when Gunn went to talk to the big cat in the White Room? Yeah, well, we figure out what that was all about here -- Gunn gets to get all fixed up as a 'super lawyer' -- b/c he had some 'untapped' potential or something along those lines.

Btw - Eve's kind of annoying. I like Lilah better - bring her back!

Good lines:

Angel: Do I even have to say how fired you are?

Angel said something about having a helicopter that was kinda cool, but I don't remember the exact line

Harmony: Blondie Bear?

*lead in*

Angel got mail -- and in the mail was...

wait for it...

I'm just evil, ya know? :evil:

An amulet!! Bwahahahahahaha......

What? Did you think I was really gonna tell you?

Spike!! He got 'un-burned to a crisp' ---

Now, I wanna know - who the hell mailed Spike to Angel? I mean - totally a 'Joss' way to bring him back - but who had time to wrap up the amulet and mail the crispy vamp to W&H???

The world may never know...

Heck I don't know, I didn't even watch any of the last couple seasons of Buffy, really....

Huh? What is Angel up to this season?

And Harmony used the word 'sycophant' correctly -- in a 'Joss' way - she said 'sycophanty' or something like that - but used it correctly -- well, I'm guessing she thinks it's means 'kiss up' - if not, she might have gotten it wrong...

Angel still needs new hair. And new clothes.

Wanna know something though? Through this whole episode, I didn't miss Cordy at all. The lack of her presence was not felt by me. Lilah - yeah, her I missed - but not Cordy. And surely not Connor (never liked him anyway).

I had a feeling that Spike wouldn't show until the last minute, that was kind of a given w/ the set-up of the new season - he's the teaser to the next ep, so that didn't bother me. But I knew that envelope was important the moment they pushed in on it at the beginning...

Questions:

*Why did Fred blow up? Wonder if she knows that you get more and better work from your employees if you are NICE to them? (No, why would she? No other employer on the planet knows that)

*What's Wes gonna be doing? Magical research? Yeah - he's Giles. Erm - he can do more than that. Guess I'm just trying to figure out where everyone's gonna fit in. Are they gonna have to get all their clients off using magic and fancy legal loopholes? Wait, that's what W&H does anyway.

*Gunn - interesting twist on him. And he has hair!

Now, here's a good question - if they pumped Gunn full of all that lawyer info, how many other W&H employees have been 'enhanced'?? **Good opportunity for Lindsey to return in some form - b/c that would just rock!**

*Eve - does she have a purpose other than to be annoying and sway her hips far too much when she walks? I hope so, b/c if not - she's gonna get real old real fast!

*Harmony - when did she learn how to type? And how long has she been working for W&H? I thought Angel told her to leave town. Eh - she can stay - she's kinda fun - as long as she gets something more to do than telling Angel he has a helicopter and that she can type really fast.

*Spike - no question really, just how cool was that CGI 'unburning' shot?

Ok first Angel and Gunn need to do something over the hair. And Eve needs to die.

Now the good stuff! Harmony!!! She was so funny!
Angel almost orgasming over the cars. And Picking the yellow one! Angel saying "I'm not little." to the Fary comment. Everyone getting lost in W&H. The whole Spanky thing. Gunn being Super Lawer! Lorn just being Lorn. Angel being all lost qnd confused when everyone shows up after his hero thing in the begining. "I help the....helpless." Knoxs. Oh man just almost everything was perfect!

Oh and one really funny thing. When Harmony said "I'm sycophant" I thought she said "I'm sick of fanfic." LOL!!! It took watching the three times with the captions on for me to see what she really said.

About the cars -

Is this supposed to be an Angel-character-insight? Angel has a thing for vintage cars? It's cool - it's good that he has a 'thing', an obsession - or whatever -- but why the yellow one? with all those pretty cars - why that one?

Hehe - at the end - the way he said Spike's name -- he didn't look all that pleased to see him --

i was interested that there were most responses for this ep, then realized half were yours, H. i'm sorry about that. i let my little web job take over.

why are we at WH? cause, i wanna know. the old crew would never have said yes. but they were weak and vulnerable and tired from Beast, Jasmine et all, right?

H, you said Angel needs new hair. hahahahahah. you know my theory on that, right?

i do like Gunn having a purpose, i don't like how it seems to reduce both Wesley's, and now that i think about it, Angel's.

Cordy who? didn't she leave after season 3? i thought so.

yeah go figure. it's just the way she talks, i think part of it is becuse of the way she tries to just pop in like she's everyone's friend....i kind of get the feeling that they're almost trying to use her to replace cordy...like the way she has very little tact and the way she totally disregards personal space....but she'd a pathetic version of cordy, she's kind of dorky

I don't think she's in to replace Cordy -- more that she's in to replace Lilah - which is sad, b/c I like Lilah. She's interesting and not annoying when she speaks.

Watched this last night - and Eve's voice doesn't bother me as much as her swinging hips, but she's annoying...
