Mine has to be Aragorn. I just love his character and his story. It was a bit confising with him and Arwen though in the books until I found the bit in the appendix!

I do like the Legolas/Gimli friendship, it's good to see the initial differences breached to form a lasting friendship, but Aragorn is definately me fav.

It really depends on weather it's from the books, or the movies.

Sam and Legolas are my favorites from the books, but, in the movies, it's Aragorn and Legolas.

I agree there, in the books Aragorn is still my favourite and Eomer is my second but they really cut him out of the second movie although I will admit it did add more tension(if you hadn't read the books). In the films I absolutely adore Merry and Pippin, they're so brave, going from what they were in the first to what they became! (I know that's vague but I'm trying not to put any spoilers in!)

Four times now!

You're right Els, there is something about Legolas, as I've said before him and Gimli are great together

Hands down, Aragorn! I was immediately drawn to him (best job Viggo's ever done) when I saw the film, so he's always been my fave. Second place is Boromir, the misunderstood.

Saw it twice before I left for Middle-earth, then saw it again in Wellington, then friends dragged me along :naughty: when they went to see it in Sydney. The last time is the only time I kept pointing out places to myself that I'd seen in person. I was quite self-restrained, if I do say so myself.

On the favorite characters thing, PJ did make some changes to the way characters were portrayed, but he did an EXCELLENT job of keeping their core characteristics the same as they were in the book. Merry, Pippin and Sam make me cry when I think about how they changed, and it doesn't hurt that the actors were incredible, too. Hope they get the SAG ensemble cast award.

I voted Merry/Pippin. I liked both of them, Pippin a little more. They were funny and I enjoyed them in the movies.

But if I was voting on who I liked to see most on the screen that would have to goto Legolas.

My favorite character has always been Pippin. Every since I first read The Lord of the Rings books when I was 8 years old. And since I'll be 30 in a few months, that's been a long time.

I couldn't be more happy with the Pippin in the Movies.

My 17 month old daughter is even starting to recognize him from my laptop screen and my book mark. Tho she started out calling him Pee Pee, she's beginning to get the hang of saying Pippin.:rolly2: :rolly2:
